At a glance:

Our panel of mum testers loved the Davy Maternity and Nursing Pyjamas, claiming they were the softest and most comfortable pyjamas they had ever worn. With an elegant, flattering design, these nursing pyjamas have an inconspicuous slit in the top for discreet breastfeeding.

What they say:

“Designed with comfort, style, and function in mind. Once you feel the softness of this pyjama set, you will reach for them time after time to get through those long nights of nursing, working-from-home days, and stay-in-your-pyjamas days! Be sure to pack them in your hospital bag. These also make a perfect baby shower gift!”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend these pyjamas because they are so comfy! The material isn't clingy, I can feed without feeling exposed. I don't have to take myself to another room and feed when we have people around in the evenings anymore, it just looks like we are having a cuddle and it's amazing. They wash well, although slight bobbling has already appeared, but that won't put me off buying a pair!

How did this product make your life easier?

These pyjamas make feeding my daughter so much easier during the night as it is so quick and easy to get her to latch on, as you just have to pull the top up and the other bit down. I used to wear two items of clothing on top to bed as I used to get cold in just a vest and pulling it down all the time left me feeling exposed and very cold.

These pyjamas are the best nursing pyjamas I have ever come across – they're reasonably priced, fantastic material, easy to feed in and my partner even complimented them saying how nice they were! The easiness of feeding is amazing. I no longer have to fiddle around with pulling one top up and the other down during the night anymore.

What changes would you make to this product?

Personally, I wouldn't change anything. The material is soft and not clingy and I could even wear them all day instead of just for bed. The only negative, as previously mentioned, is the slight bobbling that had already appeared before even washing the pyjamas, but it wouldn't stop me from buying them. Fantastic pyjamas!!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes, I would not hesitate to recommend these, especially to any pregnant or breastfeeding mums. They were comfortable and easy to wash and pull on and off quickly and easily. They also easily fit a breastfeeding bra underneath and the material is good quality and stretchy. I have already recommended these to lots of people.

How did this product make your life easier?

Breastfeeding is very easy in these - there is the choice to pull the top all the way down or to use the discreet breastfeeding slit if in company, which minimised exposure. This is very useful for having visitors in the early stages with a baby, when you are likely to all be in your pyjamas all day! They were also very comfortable on my caesarean scar.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes - they are better than any previous maternity or nursing nightwear I have tried and I can't imagine a more practical or stylish item in this category. I think the design, choice of colours and comfort made it stand out more than anything. Also, they seem very durable, I think I will be using them for many months to come.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would say you could give the option of having shorter legs, as I am 5' 5", and they are way too long for me, even if I pull the waistband all the way up. Other than this, there is nothing I would change - perhaps just improve marketing as I had never heard of these before and would have liked to have had them earlier!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes! The pyjamas are ultra-comfy and soft, I really enjoyed wearing them, both at night and to wander around the house in. Even after being washed numerous times, the soft cotton kept its shape well, the grey felt luxurious and the colour didn’t fade, nor was there any bobbling. Size-wise, I’m a 12 with big boobs and hips, so opted for a large just in case the medium was too tight. In hindsight the medium probably would have been perfect as the trousers were loose around the waist but had I been pregnant, they would have fitted me both during and after pregnancy. My husband thought I looked like I worked in a spa!

How did this product make your life easier?

Trying to keep warm whilst looking after baby in the middle of the night is often tricky, but the capped sleeves at the shoulders were not only flattering but helped to keep me cosy in bed during feeds. The discreet openings for feeding were really easy to use and I particularly liked the fact that the top wasn’t too revealing so I didn’t have to worry about what I had on before opening the front door when I was wearing them.

I think these PJ’s are worthy winners as they deliver in all aspects. As a new mum, you don’t always feel your best, but in these PJ’s you feel comfy and stylish. Once your breastfeeding days are over, you can continue to wear these pyjamas as they don’t look at all like ‘nursing’ pyjamas.

What changes would you make to this product?

I honestly wouldn’t change a single thing – I thought the Pyjamas were superb, and the colour was lovely too.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I have loved this product and would not hesitate to recommend it to pregnant or nursing mums. The pyjamas are comfortable and flattering and putting them on at the end of a long day during pregnancy felt like a treat. They held their shape well and fitted both my pregnant body and post pregnant shape equally.

How did this product make your life easier?

These pyjamas are really comfortable, flattering and convenient for nursing. I have found them really comfortable to wear for lounging, in the later stages of pregnancy, and once my baby arrived. I took them to hospital and put them on after the first post labour shower. They were lovely and soft and also helped with those first few tries at breastfeeding. I also felt at ease wearing them in front of visitors in the early newborn days. I am still wearing them now my son is a little older.

I have two pairs of nursing pyjamas and these are by far my favourites. They are much more grown up, less obviously pyjamas, more flattering and have held their shape better after repeated wearing and washing. These are the more expensive of the two pairs, though still reasonable, and they are much higher quality – so in my opinion much better value for money as I would always wear them first.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I was to change anything I would make the legs on these shorter, or offer a choice of lengths. At 5’4, the legs on these were really very long on me, I solved this by folding the waistband over, but I needed to do this a number of times to correct the length to suit my frame.

The Davy Maternity and Nursing Pyjamas set is the most comfortable, soft product I have seen on the market. The pyjama top is practical for breastfeeding, yet stylish enough to wear around the house at any time of the day (my husband thought I was wearing a "going out" top)! My little boy likes to hold on to the crossover detail while feeding. The pyjama bottoms are soft and the wide elastic waistband ensures a comfortable fit, perfect for a growing bump or after birth.

How did this product make your life easier?

The pyjamas are perfect for any breastfeeding mums as the layered top can be pulled down for ease or can be lifted for discrete feeding. The pyjamas are comfortable enough for lounging around the house in, especially on those days when my baby is cluster feeding and I can't get off the sofa.

Would you choose this product to win?

The material of these PJs is great quality, really soft, stretchy and washes well without losing shape. Other maternity/nursing pyjamas don't compare to the quality of these, and I've tried quite a few brands throughout my pregnancy. The Davy Maternity and Nursing Pyjamas set is a true winner for me!

What changes would you make to this product?

Honestly – these are the best pyjamas for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. The only thing I could suggest to improve the pyjamas would be pockets. Although the pyjamas are perfect already, pockets would be an added bonus, especially when carrying your baby.
