At a glance:

A muslin that can be used in a number of different ways, with attachable rings that double as teethers. Our mums loved how easy it was to turn this muslin into a breastfeeding cover, but wished the teethers were a little tighter to avoid them coming off in the changing bag on-the-move.

What they say:

“This is one beautiful organic muslin, with six clever uses. The MultiMuslin can be used as a breastfeeding cover, with attachable rings that click together for instant cover, a pram cover, a teether thanks to the attachable, super-safe silicone teething rings, a burp cloth, a swaddle and a blanket.’

Why do you think this product is so different to anything else on the market?

From what I have seen, there isn’t any obvious muslin based product that does everything the MultiMuslin can do, in that it is very versatile and can be used in a number of ways. This is what makes it different. Muslins are generally just muslins, even if the packaging tries to convince you that a standard muslin can double up as a breastfeeding cover, it can’t really as you can’t attach it easily round your neck to stop baby pulling it down.

Why does it change your life with your baby?

It means that I don’t have to carry around as many things which is a big bonus! I received this product just before I went on holiday to Majorca, and I found that it was a very useful item to have in my day bag, as I could use it as a cover up for breastfeeding as well as a sunshade or leg shade for baby in the buggy.

What excites you about this product?

I openly breastfeed when out and about at home, so I was a little anxious about having to faff around with a cover when I had an inpatient baby to breastfeed in an unfamiliar country. I found this product was very easy to clip around my neck and it did turn out to be a good cover. It was useful not to have to pack a muslin and a cover as well. I also like the quality of the material and the cute design – it makes me feel like a yummy mummy having it in my bag!

What one thing would you change about this product?

I wouldn’t really change anything about this product, but I personally wouldn’t pay £28.99 for this. As a confident breastfeeding mummy of a don’t even think about swaddling me active baby in Newcastle upon Tyne (i.e. the wet and cold North!), out of all of the MultiMuslins main functions (muslin, breastfeeding cover, sunshade and swaddle), I would day to day only use the muslin function. That said, now that I have tried it, just because I don’t need it, doesn’t mean I don’t want it!

Why do you think this product is so different to anything else on the market?

Because it can be used for many different things, it has little rubber attachments so it can be attached to either a car seat or a pushchair. I also found it very handy for in the car, as I was able to attach it from one window to the other. It's also good because the attachments are made out of rubber, therefore it's really good for little one to chew on. It's also very lightweight and a lot bigger than a normal muslin.

Why does it change your life with your baby?

Because you can take it anywhere with you as it will attach to most pushchairs and car seats. My little one also loves to chew on the rubber bits as they are really nice on his gums. Not only that but if it's a warm day and baby has fallen asleep, I used to hate putting a thick blanket on him just in case he overheats as he's normally a pretty warm baby anyway. With the MultiMuslin, it is really thin and will blow in the wind to help keep little one cool.

What excites you about this product?

The fact it can be used for many different things and you can take in anywhere with you. I never really like nursing covers because they always seemed so thick and I was worried little on would get too hot. However, this MultiMuslin is perfect as you can hook each side together over your shoulder and you’re away. It is so thin and breathable I was able to feed my little one discreetly, without the fear of him getting over hot and uncomfortable.

What one thing would you change about this product?

Possibly the shape of it, I find it a very odd shape as it's almost comes in to a point at the end as opposed to being square. Because of the odd shape, I sometimes find if I'm using it as a blanket it doesn't cover little one very well if he starts fidgeting. I think it would be better to change it to a square shape that’s long enough to cover little one’s legs.

Why do you think this product is so different to anything else on the market?

This product is different to anything else on the market as it is essentially a weighted muslin which has several different uses. The weights allow you to throw it over your baby’s pram on sunny days to provide shade, whilst being thin enough to allow the air to flow through and keep the baby cool. The weights allow you to clip it on to things as well as fix around your neck when breastfeeding for privacy.

Why does it change your life with your baby?

I found this product to be really useful when breastfeeding in public, as I could secure it around my neck and it was big enough for my baby to happily feed underneath without feeling constricted. The muslin can also be used to shade him in his pram, as well as mop up any spills – it came in really handy and I loved only having to take this out with me, rather than a selection of different sized muslins. The product also has a handy hippo shaped teething toy so could amuse my little one by giving it to him to play with.

What excites you about this product?

I like the fact this product has many different uses and is thinner, but better quality, than a normal muslin. The box and packaging it came in was really attractive and the MultiMuslin would make a great gift for an expecting friend. The selling point of the product is that it has seven uses, I especially liked using it as a breastfeeding cover and as a shade for my baby. There’s nothing else like it on the market and think the convenience and versatility of the product is what excites me about it.

What one thing would you change about this product?

The one thing I would want to change about the product is for it to have extra loops on it, so you’re able to move the rubber connectors around the muslin. This would then allow you to secure it on to different sized things. I also would love to be able to buy extra connectors or weights, as I found that when feeding, a weight would have been useful on the bottom of the muslin to stop it from blowing around so much when feeding outside.

Why do you think this product is so different to anything else on the market?

I’ve never seen a high-quality muslin with teething attachments before, and the fact that it can be used in so many ways is quite unique. The teething attachments are very good quality and can be used to hook the muslin, but my baby absolutely loved to chew on them! Rather than having to remember to bring a muslin and teething toys with me, I could just bring this product and know that I had both items at hand.

Why does it change your life with your baby?

My daughter was teething as I reviewed this product and she constantly wanted to chew on something, so it was wonderful to always have this product with me as she could chew on the teething attachments and play with the muslin, but on a more practical level I could use the muslin to wipe up her dribbles on her face and hands. It was extremely useful for a teething baby! I didn’t use it for all of its recommended uses, but if my baby was younger it would’ve been really helpful to use as a burp cloth and also as a breastfeeding cover when I was less confident about breastfeeding.

What excites you about this product?

I love the look of it – it looks high quality and very cute. I love that the colours were muted grey, rather than pink or blue. The muslin itself washes well and the teething attachments held up very well to my baby’s constant chewing! I loved the simplicity of the idea -  it’s just a nice muslin with chewy attachments – but it’s been executed well. My daughter absolutely loved it and got excited when I handed her the muslin to play with (my baby loves muslins), and she adored the chewy hippopotamus.

What one thing would you change about this product?

The teething attachments are great and part of the reason I like them is that they can be removed so easily to wash the muslin, but it was also frustrating that sometimes they came off when I didn’t want them to. I often grabbed the muslin out of my bag only to find that the attachments had come off and I had to dig around to find them. It would be useful if the open parts of the teething attachments were slightly tighter so they could still be easily removed, but wouldn’t slip off the muslin cloth links as easily.
