How would you cope without muslins? Our panel of mum testers loved the quality of these Miosquares from Bambino Mio, which washed well and looked beautiful.

What they say:

“Muslin squares are an essential item for any parent. This is a multi-purpose product that has so many everyday uses from mopping up spills to using as a burp cloth or comfort blanket and much more.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This product has been a lifesaver, and is now an absolute necessity for us to have. Even when washed, it doesn’t fade or become flimsy. I would also recommend it because I am able to just put it in the bag because it’s so light, and it is also not too hard and rough on the baby's skin, which is great.

How did the product make your life easier?

This product has made my life easier by helping me when my son has accidents. I am now able to wipe any spillages on clothes and use it on the pushchair as a cover for when baby is sleeping. I have also been able to use it as a bib when I forget one at home.

Would you choose this product to win?

This product stands because, for me, it isn’t too flimsy, and the quality of the material is very good, as they don’t seem to fade whenever I wash them. They are also made from beautiful bright colours that are very unique, and the squares are easy to iron, and even when not ironed, still look great.

What changes would you make to the product?

There was nothing I would change about the squares! They were great value for money and worth every penny spent. The squares are handy even for the baby to sleep on, and don’t leave marks on the baby’s skin like some others tend to do.

They are really well made and wash so well, and remain still as soft as they were when brand new. I really like the colours (teal) and design (plain, with flowers) though I‘m not as keen on the white muslin with the honey bees - I thought they were a little scary, but I have a bit of a phobia, so don't hold that against them! A friend said she really like the bee one, so everyone has different tastes, I suppose!

How did this product make your life easier?

Before becoming a mum, I didn't really understand what people meant when they said that you could never have enough muslin squares...until my little one arrived! I use at least 2-3 muslin squares a day, sometimes more, so they definitely were right! They make my life easier by being easy to wash and have to hand to mop up spills, cover up or be a light blanket in the summer months. This particular product has been so useful as they are of a very good quality, wash really well and are just the right size for my little one.

Compared to other brands I have purchased, I have to say that the quality of Miosquares does stand out. The box and packaging that the squares came in felt special and they stood out as a quality product straight away. I really like the product and will always reach for the Miosquares before any of the others I have.

What changes would you make to this product?

It is difficult because the product is so good, but if I had to choose one thing it would be that they weren't so creased when washed and dried. They do seem to be more creased than other, similar products, but that ultimately is a minor gripe, and doesn't really affect my overall opinion of them at all. Maybe there could be more squares in a pack, but it could be that there are larger packs available on the market. I would like to see what other designs and styles are available in future.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this to a fellow mother or a friend because they are so handy to use, fold up small enough for any baby bag, can be used as a blanket, a bib, or over the shoulder for burping, and can also be something to lie baby on for changing or on. They wash well, which is great for busy mums!

How did this product make your life easier?

The muslin squares are so handy for everyday use. They’re a good size and can be used for a lot of different things; for example, there was a hot night in the summer and was able to just use one as a blanket. They are very absorbent and come in lots of lovely colours. My partner even uses them, seeing as they are neutral colours, and we’re both very pleased with the quality of the product.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product over others on the market, as despite only being £7.99, they feel like they could have cost a lot more. They wash lovely, and haven’t lost any of their colours afterwards. In my opinion, I think this product should definitely win. The colours and designs are neutral for both boys and girls. I used them while I was out and about and a lot of people commented on how nice and pretty they were, especially the one with the bee design.

What changes would you make to this product?

In my opinion, I don't honestly think there is anything that needs to be changed with these muslin squares. They come in a lovely box, wash well, and can be used for a number of different things which, as a busy mother of three, is very important and useful. The colours are neutral, and even my partner commented on how nice and well-made they are.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend these muslins to friends, as I absolutely love the quality. They are relatively thick and therefore absorb things really well, while also being soft to the touch, which is really important when using them for babies. They fold neatly for placing in a changing bag, and also come in a few different designs.

How did this product make your life easier?

These muslins are great for mopping up spills and spit-up when needed. The quality means they are suitably soft, while also being absorbent, which is great, as I have found some other muslins to be a little rough, and was reluctant to continue using them on baby’s skin. The pleasing design also means you don't mind using them while out and about, which is nice.

Would you choose this product to win?

I think I may choose this product above other on the market due to their quality. This particularly regards their thickness and softness as, for the price, I think it would be difficult to find similar quality products. I also think the design is something some people might like, as they are quite bright, and also quite different from a lot of others I’ve seen before.

What changes would you make to this product?

For me, the designs could definitely be improved. Some people may like the angular designs on the muslins, however, they are not really to my taste. Personally, I would prefer them to be a rainbow design, or something along those lines. I haven’t seen any rainbow design muslins out there, and would definitely buy these again if they were designed in such a way.
