At a glance:

Our panel of mum testers loved the luxurious feel of this baby balm, finding it deeply moisturising for delicate skin. We love the beautiful packaging, and that that you can use this from top to toe.

What they say:

“This 100% organic, Allergy Certified balm is perfect for baby’s delicate skin and super softening for face, body or bottom. An unfragranced blend of soothing and nurturing shea butter and botanical oils. We’ve replaced the olive oil in our Organic Baby Balm with sunflower oil - rich in linoleic acid - to nourish baby’s skin.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I'd recommend it as a great all-rounder for a baby as the packaging is beautiful and it really feels like a luxury product. It would be great as a gift to a new mum and baby. I would also recommend using it on mum herself as it locks in moisture very effectively. The fragrance is subtle and doesn't mask the gorgeous natural baby smell that we all love!

How did this product make your life easier?

It's smooth going on and a little goes a long way compared to other oils and lotions for babies. It cleared up my little boy's dry skin within days, which had been really irritating him. We used it to help clear up his little bit of cradle cap by using it with a brush in his hair. It's great to use as a massage oil before bed time, and we found it helped him to slip off to sleep very quickly. It does however, take time to sink in properly into his skin, so had to leave him for about five minutes, otherwise he was really slippery.

Would you choose this product to win?

I think this product should win a Mother & Baby award, it's reassuring that it’s made with completely organic ingredients, it's not as messy as some other oils and it really does feel like an indulgent treat for baby and genuinely helps with dry skin. I love that it isn't as intensely fragranced as other products can be and the packaging isn't 'babyish' which I sometimes feel can be cliché and naff.

What changes would you make to this product?

The price tag - £11 a pot seems like a large upfront cost, especially considering how small the product is. However, a little bit does go a long way. It's definitely something you may want to put on a gift list, rather than continually pay out for, or something that you would use less often as a special treat.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This product is conveniently sized so it can be taken anywhere. The fact that it’s organic and fragrance-free takes away the worry of whether or not your child is going to be allergic to the product. Also having no added or harmful chemicals in the balm makes you happier to apply it to your baby's skin. The balm is so easy to use and the packaging is very attractive.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product has made life easier as you can take it anywhere with you! The fact that the product is organic and fragrance free adds to the ease, having a child with very sensitive skin it is hard to find products that he is able to use. The balm dries quickly and doesn’t leave the skin feeling sticky or wet after use, so I can dress my child straight after applying it.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product over others due to it being good for my baby’s skin and not adding to the dryness. I love the naturalness to the product and the smart, attractive design. The biggest selling point of this balm is the fact that it is organic and fragrance free.

What changes would you make to this product?

One thing that I would change is to include some sort of scoop or spatula to get the product out of the jar. A pet hate for most parents is getting products stuck under their finger nails, so for me, this would also make the product more hygienic.

Tested by mum Tatiana Artahona for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend it to fellow mums, yes! Although £11 might seem quite expensive for a baby product, I like the usability of it. The design has pros and cons, on one hand you don't lose any product because you have to scoop in to get it, but the jar is quite heavy because it is glass and I was worried it could break if it was dropped.

How did this product make your life easier?

The product is fantastic because it can be used all over baby from top to toe and on top of that, it is good on my hands which is a big advantage and makes things easier not having to clean my hands after applying on baby. It is not oily at all and is a good barrier at the same time, highly recommended from my point of view.

Would you choose this product to win?

I do think it should win even though it is quite expensive. I really like the fact that is good on my hands as well as my baby’s skin. It’s a little thing, but this has really stood out for me, as many other creams I have used for my baby can be too oily.

What changes would you make to this product?

I think the jar should not be made from glass as although it looks beautiful, it is too heavy and I am worried it could break.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I have only applied it once a day and my baby's dry skin on her legs has cleared up, as well as a patch of redness on her head. I feel it has multiple uses and wouldn't hesitate in continuing to use on baby and myself. I would comment on the hygiene of using a jar product, and would prefer a tube for this - but it wouldn't put me off buying it. It isn't suitable for using out and about, or traveling with as it is quite a heavy glass jar, so a travel option or smaller size might be helpful - but there is no reason I couldn't decant it to add to my changing bag.

How did this product make your life easier?

The product has made bath time routine quicker as I don't have to wait so long for the balm to sink in as I would other products. A little goes a long way and it is absorbed really quickly. It also moisturises my hands quite well, so I don't need to do this again throughout the day. It is great value as I don't need to use too much, and being fragrance free means I am happy to use it all over my baby's body.

Would you choose this product to win?

The product is very stylish, beautifully packaged and looks good on display. I feel it is quite an aspirational brand but is also value for money as you only need a small amount of product. The product itself also fees luxurious and silky and sinks into baby's skin very quickly.

What changes would you make to this product?

I love that it is fragrance free and would buy it again because of this, but I would also like to see a subtlety fragranced version with something like lavender and camomile to help aid sleep and use as part of a bed time routine. I would also like to see a travel version perhaps in a tube, as the jar is too bulky for a changing bag. Neither of these are deal breakers for me as I will certainly be buying this product again.

Tested by mum Dionne Atkin for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product completely to another mum, since using it I've already told three other mums about it and let them try it on their own skin and their babies. I think it's a nice simple design as well that stands out to me on the shelf.

How did this product make your life easier?

I love this product because it's easy to apply to the skin. It made my baby's skin very smooth and soft, he also has eczema so I found this product is very light when applying and moisturised his skin so deeply. However, it's quite greasy, so preferred to do it in the evening before bed as it takes time to soak through.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product as it didn't react with my baby's poorly skin it, it improved the condition of the skin. I also think this product will last a long time as you need to use so little. I do think this product deserves to win a Mother & Baby award as it's luxurious without the price tag. I love the packaging and print although would prefer a pumped product as it’s easier when juggling a baby and everything mums do.

What changes would you make to this product?

The only thing I would change is a pump feature. Also, I would prefer a lighter cream for day time which was a little less greasy, as in my opinion this product is suited for night time uses.
