Dubatti One

At a glance:

There’s no doubt about it, the Dubatti One looks beautiful. You might not have heard of this Dutch brand, but they only make one thing – the One buggy, and it shows. It’s well designed and looks luxurious, although it isn’t as compact as others on the market. Stand out features include the access flap on the rain cover, the extra detachable shopping basket and the fact you can design it to your own taste.

What they say:

“After years of development and testing. It’s strong and light, fast and agile, easy to fold and is height adjustable. It comes as standard with four large tyres and smart accessories. You choose the colour of the frame, the fabric and the handlebar. Cool, clean or conservative: it’s your choice.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this pushchair because it looks great and comes with a number of attractive accessories, including a parasol, foot muff and changing bag. The hood is a great size which is super useful, as it means I do not have to apply sun cream for short trips out.

How has this product made your life easier?

The pushchair is so easy to use – it manoeuvres well on a range of different terrains and was easy to assemble and dismantle when getting in and out of the car. I was able to push the buggy with one hand, whilst holding my nephew’s hand in the other, which is something I usually find tricky with other buggies.

Would you choose this product to win?

I think I would choose this to win a Mother & Baby award, mainly because of how great it looks. I found the pushchair extremely easy to use and although it is a little on the expensive side, it is a good quality product and is definitely worth the money.

What changes would you make to this product?

I’ve really struggled to answer this question and the only thing I can think of is the basket size, which could be a little bigger as I found it was a little small when I was out shopping.

The manoeuvrability and the fact this pushchair is so lightweight is ideal for long journeys. Despite being so lightweight, the pushchair feels much more stable and high quality than other prams I have used in the past. On a first glance, the pram seat looks pretty bulky, but the pram base compensates for this by folding down into a very small space. The basket underneath, while not massive, easily fits in enough supplies to see me through the day when out and about with my little one.

How has this product made your life easier?

For our child’s age (16 months), the design and angle of the seat was perfect for her to look around and interact without frustration and the attached central bar was perfect for her to hold onto. When she was sleepy, the pram offered her a private, comfortable place for her to drift off easily. The rain cover was the best we have used and the velcro flap ideal for moments when our daughter dropped her dummy or needed juice without having to remove the entire cover. The pram was also incredibly light for its build quality – we have to walk up a relatively steep hill to get home and the journey felt much easier than with other prams.

Would you choose this product to win?

First impressions of this product are deceiving – the look, sturdiness and feel of the pram are such that I imagined it would be slightly clunky and heavy when in use. In fact, the pram is incredibly lightweight and very easy to manoeuvre. It feels like having the best of both worlds, a stylish, sturdy pram with the ease of use of a pram half its size!

What changes would you make to this product?

Putting the pram together in the first instance was more complicated than other prams we have used and as such, putting the pram up and down took some getting used to. This was quickly rectified the more we used it, but it may prove a little daunting or intimidating to first time users.

It's lovely to be able to design your own pram to suit your tastes! Having had direct contact with the company, I found them extremely easy and lovely to deal with, making the whole experience great from start to finish. It folds down well, however due to the size of the wheels (all terrain) I did find it wasn’t as compact as I thought it would be. That said, the suspension on the wheels is fantastic!

Wow! I absolutely love this pram! It is stylish and I love that you can pretty much design the entire product to suit your tastes. It provides my son with a comfortable ride and he is more than happy to go out in it. The crossbar is at just the right height for him to play with the toys I attached to it and I particularly like the access flap on the rain cover, allowing me to tend to him without removing the whole thing.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would definitely consider this pram to win an award and I am quite sad I'd never heard of them when I was pregnant and choosing my pram! The only thing I didn't like was the underneath storage – the shopping bag is fantastic; however this can only be used when the pushchair is facing outwards and therefore obsolete when facing towards you or as a carrycot, which is a shame. The rain cover was great with the addition of an access flap, however didn't seem to fit snug to the pram and I wonder whether this would cause problems in strong winds. Finally, the footmuff for the pushchair is lovely and fluffy, leaving no concerns of whether my son is warm enough!

What changes would you make to this product?

I definitely feel the underneath storage needs to be bigger given that you can't use the shopping bag until your child is facing outwards in the pram. I do however like that it is closed to stop anything falling out! I would also like a rain cover with an elasticated edge so it fits better. I also feel the instructions could be easier to understand, as I did have to go over things several times at points as it was un-clear what went where.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product to fellow mums for a number of reasons. Firstly, it's stunning. I work in design, so the look of a product is important to me; I'm naturally drawn to quirky design details and gorgeous fabrics and colours. The Dubatti One is visually beautiful – the leather detailing and choice of colours on the fabric accessories really make this a quality product. Secondly is convenience. You get everything you possibly need (other than the car seat) for one price. I was really impressed that it came with a changing bag and parasol! That's usually something to have to pay extra for.

How has this product made your life easier?

The Dubatti One is a beautifully designed travel system. Although there was a lot to put together when it arrived, the instructions were well written and easy to follow. It took me around 40 minutes to set everything up, but this was with a one-year-old helping! Once the pushchair was set up, it was really easy to fold down and put into the car. The same with unfolding. What I particularly love about this pushchair is the fact I can get it into my house easily. My front door is at the bottom of my stairs so there's very little room to manoeuvre into my living room, but I could actually do this with the Dubatti without hitting the door frame - something I rarely can do!

Would you choose this product to win?

This product should win for a number of reasons. Usability - it's super easy to push (even one handed) and manoeuvres up and down kerbs well. Design - it's an all-round stunning looking pram, with the ability for the customer to customise it to their taste – something I absolutely love being able to do when buying a pram. The all-terrain wheels mean you can comfortably use this pram on all days out, without worrying the wheels may struggle on certain terrains. Finally, the quality is amazing! The materials used are high quality and the design details make the product well worth the price tag. You really do get what you pay for.

What changes would you make to this product?

The one thing I dislike about the Dubatti One is laying the seat flat and raising it up again. I actually really struggled with this. My son is 15-months-old but the size of a 10-month-old so not very heavy at all, yet I found lying him flat a real struggle. You have to use both hands to push the buttons to release the seat and then it's really awkward to lay the seat back without losing control and the seat going to the flattest position. I then found it quite heavy and awkward to lift up again, so ended up keeping him flat while I walked around the supermarket! I much prefer prams with a one hand lever to lay the seat back as you have much more control over the weight of the seat. Other than that, this pram is one of the best I've ever used.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this pram to a fellow mum as I really enjoyed using it. I have two young boys and thought this pram was a great all rounded – suitable for all ages, making it worth the price tag as you can adapt it to suit your baby as he grows. It pushes smoothly, goes up and down curbs with ease and can be steered one handed if needed. It is easy to collapse and pop back up, and is lovely and light to life in and out of your boot. It is so easy to use and really well made. It also looks like an expensive buggy and I received lots of comments on how nice it was. It comes with a parasol attached to the buggy frame which provided my newborn with extra shade.

How has this product made your life easier?

This is a great buggy – it is stylish and easy to use and had helpful little extras, such as the flap on the harness fastener, which stops escapees from changing their luck! It has a lovely long canopy, perfect for keeping baby cool and protected from the sun. It is easy to push and steer, and fold up and down and the wheels aren’t too wide, which makes getting through doorways a breeze! I loved that it comes with a net storage basket which you can attach to the back of the buggy – perfect for storing groceries and detachable so you can take it off when it’s not needed. There is also a lovely neat and tidy little storage basket with a lid underneath the buggy.

Would you choose this product to win?

I definitely think this buggy deserves to win a Mother & Baby award as it’s a great all-rounder that ticks all the boxes. It is robust, sturdy and well-made and has been designed to a high standard. It is easy to use, keep clean and fold down and has a number of fantastic accessories, like the extra detachable storage basket and parasol. The storage basket under the buggy is great as it is compact and completely enclosed - good for hiding things in you don't necessarily want out on display (such as your handbag and snacks!). An added bonus is that this buggy suited both my 18-month-old baby and my four-year-old – they loved the canopy which felt like a den for them and they were both comfortable in the pushchair.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I had to change one thing about this faultless buggy, I’d suggest the storage basket underneath could be a little bigger.
