How Mother&Baby tested and selected the best pregnancy pillows on the market in 2025.
Who carried out the testing?
Our parent testers, along with members of the M&B team, tested 11 out of 12 pillows for at least a month, using them throughout their pregnancies from 12 weeks up to nine months. Some continued to use them after birth as they can be used for feeding and supporting c-section recovery.
The pregnancy pillows were tested in homes, during naps and at bedtime so testers could get a feel for how they held up in real-life settings. They then sent their honest review to Mother&Baby. By testing multiple pillows, we've been able to find the one best suited to individual needs, and for a range of budgets.

What were the products tested for?
Each pregnancy pillow was evaluated on the following areas:
• Shape, size and comfort: We evaluated how well each pillow's design adapted to different body types and sleep positions for maximum comfort.
• Material and durability: Each pillow was assessed for fabric quality, breathability, and resilience after extended use.
• Support provided as their pregnancy progressed: Testers used the pillows across trimesters to judge how effectively they supported growing bumps, hips, and backs.
• Ease of cleaning: We checked whether covers were removable, machine-washable, and how well they held up after washing.
• Value for money: We compared features, longevity, and comfort against price to determine overall affordability and worth.
Our ratings
Each product was then scored out of 5 in the following categories: comfort, support, ease of cleaning, value for money and style. From this we were able to give each product an overall rating. Here's what they mean:
⭐ 1/5 — Poor: Didn’t meet expectations in this area at all. Major drawbacks or uncomfortable design made it hard to recommend.
⭐ 2/5 — Fair: Some useful features but significant issues. Might work for some, but we found better options.
⭐ 3/5 — Good: Did the job reasonably well, with a few flaws. Solid choice for the basics but didn’t stand out.
⭐ 4/5 — Very good: Impressive performance with only minor drawbacks. A reliable, high-quality option.
⭐ 5/5 — Excellent: Outstanding in this category. Comfortable, supportive, and well-made — the best we tested.

The right pregnancy pillow can be a game-changer for your sleep and comfort, especially as your bump grows and those inevitable aches and pains begin to set in. At 20 weeks pregnant, I found the perfect pregnancy pillow for me, and it transformed my sleep quality and left me feeling much more rested throughout the day as I head into my third trimester.
A poll by the National Sleep Foundation found that 78 per cent of mums-to-be have trouble sleeping so if you're in the same boat, a pregnancy pillow can make a significant difference. It can provide much-needed comfort as your body changes, supporting your legs to ease pelvic girdle pain, cushioning your bump for back or round ligament pain relief, and even preventing you from rolling onto your back. And the best bit? Many can be used in the postnatal period as well, either as nursing pillows or back cushions making them a smart investment for your entire motherhood journey.
In this article:
However, before you get to reap these benefits, you'll have to find one that's right for you, and this can prove to be a bit of a minefield. While all designs aim to support you and your growing bump, they come in various shapes and sizes, each offering slightly different ways to provide the most effective comfort.
Types of pregnancy pillows
To get some expert guidance, we asked Midwife Pip MSc BSc, for her advice on choosing the best type of pregnancy pillow for specific needs.
Full-body pregnancy pillow or I-shaped pillow: Usually running the whole length of your body and either straight or slightly curved. Full-body pregnancy pillow like the support your shoulders, hips and knees but generally only support either your bump or your back. Our favourite full-body pregnancy pillow is the bbhugme Pregnancy Pillow, £159 and we recommend the DockATot Cossett Body Pillow, £105 for an I-shape pillow.
U-shaped pregnancy pillow: "Best for full-body support, back pain, sciatica, and restless sleepers" says Pip. A U-shaped pillow surrounds your whole body. This means that both your belly and back are supported. It is usually the largest type that you can get, so it's worth bearing in mind the space you have available before buying. For the best U-shaped pillow, we recommend the CuddleCo Organic Deluxe, £69.99.
C-shaped pregnancy pillow: "Great for targeted support for the bump, back, and hips." A C-shaped pregnancy pillow can be used with the cushion around the front to support your belly, or with it around the back to discourage you from rolling over onto your back. Whichever way you use it, the top then supports your head and neck while the bottom sits between your thighs to support your hips. They can also be used as a nursing pillow once the baby arrives or just as back support when you're watching TV. Our favourite C-shaped pillow is the PurFlo Breathe Pregnancy Pillow, £59.
J-shaped pregnancy pillow: "Similar to a C-shape but takes up less space." J-shaped pillows tend to be longer, wrapping around your back and up between your legs to support your knees and provide extra support between your legs, which is perfect for mums who are suffering from pelvic pain in pregnancy. We recommend the SnüzCurve Pregnancy Support Pillow, £84.95.
V-shape pregnancy pillow: A v-shaped pillow can be used in various ways - put it between your knees to ease pelvic pain, around your bump to support it, or around your head and shoulders to support your neck. It's also ideal as a breastfeeding pillow and you could buy one of the best v-shape pillowcases to use when it needs cleaning. We like the Sleep&Snuggle V Shape Pillow, £19.99.
Wedge pregnancy pillow: " Ideal for bump or back support without taking up much space." This is the smallest option and great for pregnant mums with localised pain. For instance, it can be wedged under your bump to help with back pain, or between your knees to help your hips. Our favourite is the OCCObaby Pregnancy Wedge Pillow, £34.01.

If you think a U-shaped pillow will work best for you, Mother&Baby's Hub Editor Stephanie Spencer can personally recommend the CuddleCo 12ft deluxe pillow. This is large enough that you can comfortably sleep with your head in the centre of the pillow, one side supporting your back and the other with your knees tucked around it to help keep your spine aligned and reduce back pain.
Steph found the pillow helped her feel comfortable on her side and like she wasn't going to roll back onto her back during the night. "It was soft enough for bump to rest on it without feeling squashed, although it sometimes needs a shake to redistribute the filling, particularly at the top where it 'folds' in half. "Now, while this is the one that I loved, I completely understand that it won't work for everyone. It is huge, and my husband does feel a bit left out when I'm snuggled inside, but I'm sleeping a lot better, and that is the main thing! The cover is washable, but it would be good if it came with a spare, as 12ft pillowcases are not easy to come by." She added.
Why choose this pregnancy pillow?
The pillow is large enough to support both your back and knees, it will also help your stay in a safe position if you're prone to wiggling around during sleep. The cover washes well and is made from certified organic cotton.

Best pregnancy pillow for hip pain
Created using in-depth consumer research, the Purflo Breathe Pillow features 3D mesh and soft cotton to provide a comfortable maternity pillow. It's particularly versatile, and our tester noted that it "moves with your body." This helps to support and relieve pressure from your head, hips, knees and ankles. It can also be used as a back support, a feeding cushion and a baby support cushion for tummy time so offers good value for money.
The 3D spacer mesh also allows for better airflow but our tester didn't notice any significant difference. "I haven’t found the mesh section to offer any additional comfort for my bump area and think the pillow would work just as well if it were all jersey" she said.
Our testers agreed that it offered support in all the right places and was particularly highly recommended for pelvic pain, with one saying "I have Pelvic Girdle Pain and must sleep with my knees separated, the Purflo Breathe pillow is firm and keeps my legs aligned with my hips so I don’t wake up in pain. It’s long enough for me to move my legs around while still maintaining a comfortable position, unlike other pregnancy pillows, which keep you stuck in one position." However, she did note that while it was ideal for hip pain, this did make it less suitable for bump or back support.
Why choose this pregnancy pillow?
This is an all-rounder, supporting you throughout pregnancy sleep, feeding and then it can be used during tummy time. It really does tick each box when it comes to value for money.

Best full body pregnancy pillow
This bbhugme Pregnancy Pillow is one of the more expensive options on our list. It's designed by health professionals, is fully adjustable and provides five-point support throughout pregnancy to the most critical areas - the pelvis, lower back, knees, ankles, and abdomen - so while it has a higher price tag than others, it ticks a lot of boxes for pregnant mums.
Our Features and Reviews Editor, Emily Gilbert, described this pillow as feeling like "you're sleeping on a cloud" as it moulds around the body for support where you need it most, making it easier to relax and get comfortable during pregnancy. She added, "The difference I have noticed since using the bbhugme pillow at night, especially as my pregnancy progresses, has been huge for me. It's so comfortable to snuggle into, and my body feels much less achy when I wake up, thanks to all the support I'm receiving." While testing, Emily did find that it can be tricky to put the pillow into the cover. This does make it tricky to clean as the cover has to be removed to wash it (the pillow itself can only be spot cleaned).
This pillow can be adjusted for firmness by moving the 'pebbles' which hold it at each end, tightening them to push the inner beads together for a firmer pillow or loosening them to create a more mouldable pillow. This allows you to find a comfort level that suits you, and our tester felt this was one of the main USPs of the bbhugme pillow.
Why choose this pregnancy pillow?
We love that it enables sleep and rest from the first trimester. Standout features is that the firmness can be easily adjusted, you get a removable cover and handy travel-sized bag, but it does take up quite a bit of room in the bed.

The Najell adjustable pregnancy pillow is made from two smaller nursing pillows to make a larger pillow which can then be adjusted according to your shape and needs. Our pregnant tester, Sam did find it slightly awkward to adjust at first, saying "the only issue is trying to adjust it to suit your bump, in the first week it did feel quite firm so it required a lot of squishing and repositioning to get it just right for my comfort, and to support my bump shape." However, the fact that it is adjustable in the first place is a bonus as it allows it to be adapted to different bodies and different needs.
This design also means it takes up less space when not in use, and our tester found that this made it easier to take on nights away, saying "it rolled up really well into its storage bag and fit in my overnight bag with ease!" Sam also rated the Najell highly in terms of durability and longevity, noting that "I've been using this pillow for almost three months now, and it still feels and looks as good as the day I first got it. I really think it will last the duration of my pregnancy, as well as when I give birth and feed my baby."
Why choose this pregnancy pillow?
The two-pillow design means it can be used as both a pregnancy pillow and a breastfeeding pillow after birth, which makes it better value for money. It also looks fab and comes in various different colours if you feel incline to match your pregnancy pillow to you bedroom decor.

The uniquely J-shaped pillow (designed by a team of respected health experts) seamlessly curves around your pregnant figure and growing bump, and thanks to its innovative KneeBlade™ design, it will help you settle into the correct sleeping position.
Taking the pressure off your hips, legs and ankles, the SnüzCurve Pregnancy Support Pillow also supports the upper body, keeps your spine neutral, relieves pressure on the bump and keeps you comfy. Our testers found that this pillow helped relieve pregnancy pains and left them feeling refreshed and well-rested after sleep. Our tester dubbed it "a godsend", noting that "within a couple of nights, I noticed my back and knee pains started to disappear. The quality and length of my sleep improved also."
Testers rated it highly for practicality, saying "It was really easy to unpack and get used to using. I have used it every night since I unboxed it and wash the cover every time I wash the bed sheets."
Our tester noted that the lack of back support was an issue as she moved into her third trimester, "I am now 28 weeks pregnant and have only just found this pillow to not be as effective for me, as it doesn’t stop me from rolling onto my back in my sleep."
Why choose this pregnancy pillow?
The SnüzCurve is smaller than most of the pillows in this guide, which is a bonus if you've got a double bed that isn't big enough to be taken over by a huge pillow. We also love the KneeBlade design, which helps you settle into the comfiest position for sleep.

Best lumbar support pillow for pregnancy
If the look and feel are your top priority, DockATot's Cosset body pillow is designed to look good and feel good during pregnancy and beyond. Beautifully created, as with most DockATot products, the Cosset body pillow is also functional and made up using Suprelle Duo Fibres to offer a comfortable and supportive sleep throughout your pregnancy.
Our tester found the I-shape design comfortable, noting it supported her leg/hips and kept her on her left side. "I placed the body pillow vertically next to me so I can lay on my left side and hug the pillow - I keep a section between my thighs or rest my top thigh on the pillow." She also found it comfortable when sitting up, saying, "Another useful position when you're not sleeping but looking to get comfortable is that the DockATot Cosset can be used to support the lower back whilst seated and under the belly for bump support." As she points out, this means it will also be useful for feeding when the baby arrives. "I know it will aid lumbar support during night feeds when my baby is here."
Why choose this pregnancy pillow?
We love that this isn't your standard pregnancy pillow but rather a gorgeous addition to your bedroom. Our tester loved that "it can just be kept on the bedpost during pregnancy, sitting looking pretty."

If good value is important to you, or you don't want to shell out for something you'll only use for a short period of time, the sleepdove Big U might be the pregnancy pillow for you. A U-shaped pillow offers neck and back support for mums-to-be sleeping on their side. It is filled with soft, supportive, luxury, non-allergenic hollow fibres, ensuring a comfortable sleep experience. The pillow comes with a white cotton zipped cover, which is removable for cleaning.
At 12ft, it's one of the larger pillows (but there is a 9ft version too) on our list which had pros and cons for our tester, who noted "Given the size of this 12ft u-shaped pillow, it’s a bit heavy to take on and off the bed, but having said that, the size is what makes it half as good as it is". Due to the size, our tester did find it difficult to get the cover on but once on, she found her sleep improved. "It’s incredibly soft and supports both my back and my belly in all kinds of positions. For the first time in weeks I was able to sleep through the night which I was so grateful for!" One other pregnant mum tester who was struggling with pelvic pain during her pregnancy said, "I had my first good night's sleep since being pregnant" when using this pillow.
Why choose this pregnancy pillow?
We love that this can be used both on its front and back, making it easy to turn from left to right in bed. This is a great value pregnancy pillow that will help you get some decent sleep without forking out loads of money on something you'll only be using for nine months.

Best C shaped pregnancy pillow
www.kallysleep.com
The Kally Body Support Pillow is a highly comfortable and attractive pregnancy pillow designed to enhance sleep quality for expectant mothers. Ergonomically designed by osteopaths, its curved shape snugly fits around the body, supporting the bump and alleviating aches and pains, improving circulation, and preventing acid reflux and indigestion. Our mum tester, Leah, found this helped with her pregnancy aches and pains, saying, "My aches were a lot less, particularly in my arms and legs."
In testing, the Kally pregnancy pillow scored well for ease of use and comfort. "Taking the pillow to bed each night, it soon became part of my routine to snuggle up to it, wrapping my right leg over and left leg under for that extra bit of comfort. As the pillow is quite long, I also occasionally rested my head on it, which helped keep my neck aligned with the rest of my body" Leah said. She did note that there's no back support but still felt it offered good value for money.
Why choose this pregnancy pillow?
One of our favourite features is the anti-allergy-treated fibres that help to protect against bacteria and the breathable cotton outer layer, which keeps you perfectly cool - great for helping to prevent night sweats. You can also easily use this prenatal pillow as a breastfeeding pillow once the baby arrives, too. It's on the firmer side, which some reviewers really enjoy, but others may not. It also needs a good shake every now and then to redistribute the filling.

Best pregnancy pillow for side sleeping
The Dreamgenii pregnancy pillow has a patented design that supports your bump, back and knees. It also helps you to lie on your left side while supporting the rest of your body at the same time. If you naturally sleep on your back, getting comfortable in this new position can be difficult and our testers found this pillow very helpful.
Our M&B tester Sophie noted that she found it particularly helpful for back and hip pain, "I started using the Dreamgenii Pregnancy, Support and Feeding Pillow when I was 24 weeks pregnant. I had been suffering from back and hip pain for a while, so I was so thankful to find a product that would help me get comfy at night." Our other tester Sophie appreciated its practicality saying "It's easy to wash the cover, and I used it while Eli was tiny to support him as he laid next to me on the bed during the day, too."
Why choose this pregnancy pillow?
This pillow sets itself out from the rest as it offers support for your bump, back and knees and can be used in various different positions. It can also be used as a feeding pillow as support during breastfeeding.

If you've recently noticed some aches and pains in your back, hips, knees, neck and head in the morning during pregnancy, then this pillow might be just what you're looking for. Pharmedoc CeeCee C-shaped pillow offers full body support and claims to help with a range of issues, including sciatica, swollen legs and back pain. Reviewers particularly noted that it helped with hip pain.
However, because of this design, it does take up more than your side of the bed so would be best suited to a bigger bed. Reviewers said this pillow is ultra-comfortable, and having the detachable cover makes keeping it fresh, as easy as can be. The 100% cotton jersey fabric is gentle on your skin, machine-washable and comfortable to lay on - with the added bonus that it can be used on your bed, sofa or floor. This means it's likely to be a pillow you use long after baby's here. "My husband loves the pillow too. Sometimes when I come to bed late I have to pull it off him as he falls asleep. I know after I give birth, he's going to use it more than me," said one reviewer. however, some taller mums-to-be did note that it wasn't quite long enough to support them as they'd hoped and that the stuffing may need redistributing every now and then.
Why choose this pregnancy pillow?
We love the shape of this pillow, which wraps around you fully to support head, back, bump and legs - reviewers describe it feeling "like the nicest hug in the world."

Best pregnancy wedge pillow
The OCCObaby Pregnancy Wedge Pillow is especially designed for mums in the third trimester to improve circulation and reducing any swelling in the hands, legs, and feet – something many mums suffer with during pregnancy. The wedge design means you can use it to target localised pain, for instance, by supporting the belly, using it between the knees to help with hip pain, or popping it behind your back to support you while you sleep.
"It’s really lightweight and small, so it will be easy to roll over with in the middle of the night without causing me any frustration or waking up my husband", said one tester. Its innovative design includes micro-holes in the foam for air ventilation, ensuring a cooling and comfortable nap, day and night. With soft memory foam on one side and firm foam on the other, it's designed to allow you to customise each sleep to you and how your body is feeling, but our tester didn't see a huge difference. "I’m not sure I’m getting lots from the ‘versatile 2-sided support’ that it is marketed as having – both sides feel largely the same when I am using it despite them supposedly having different foams i.e. one a memory foam and the other a firm foam" she said.
The pillow is portable and comes with a travel bag, making it convenient for use at home, in the car, or at the office. Our pregnant tester appreciated this and added "It’s also incredibly easy to take the cover off to clean it."
Our tester noted that it didn't offer full body support, but that this could "relieve the back pain of the ‘pulling’ bump" in later months. The design of the OCCObaby also makes it one of the best pregnancy pillows for an office chair "I’ve been using it as a back support at my desk and it’s doubled up in that function well" said one tester.
Why choose this pregnancy pillow?
Lightweight and great for travel, this pregnancy pillow can be taken with you anywhere. Amazing if you travel for work, are using it in the office or are going on holiday. If you're looking for a firm pregnancy pillow, it is made from firm memory foam that helps mould your body to a place of comfort.

Best cooling pregnancy pillow
simbasleep.com
The biggest selling point of the Simba Cooling Pillow is, yup! You guessed it, its cooling properties. it's specifically been designed to keep pregnant people cool throughout the night - hence the name. Thanks to its Stratos® cool-touch tech, it keeps the pillow cool to the touch and is breathable to wick away any sweat and keep your skin cool and dry.
Our tester found this particularly helpful in the summer months when she was in her third trimester, saying "this worked a dream on hot nights and I was so pleased to discover that it remained cool to touch throughout the night. This was a huge positive to the use of the product and hugely contributed to a more enjoyable sleep." If you're struggling to sleep because of the heat, it might be worth swapping your pillowcases for one of the best cooling pillowcases, too.
It is fairly deep and firm, and as our tester is petite, she felt that the pillow would provide more comfort to taller women. If you're a natural back sleeper, you might find the lack of back support an issue, though our tester felt this was "easily fixed using other bedding pillows to support the use of the Simba."
Why choose this pregnancy pillow?
Aside from the cooling effects, the Simba is designed to support your legs and hips and keep the spine aligned. We love how snuggly this pillow is, with our tester commenting that they felt like they were sleeping "on a cloud".

Pregnancy pillows: Everything you need to know
Pregnancy pillows can offer relief from common physical aches and pains brought on by your changing body. By offering greater support to your legs, back, hips and neck, and keeping your spine aligned, they can help you to sleep better when pregnant and wake up feeling more rested and with fewer aches and pains. Sleep coach Heidi says, "During pregnancy, you will have more energy and feel better if you sleep well and are well rested. Whilst no one 'has to' have a pregnancy pillow, women who do invest in them will often rave about them."
According to a recent study by The Sleep Foundation, sleeping on your side with bent knees is highly recommended during pregnancy as it promotes healthy circulation. This position is thought to protect the liver and significantly increase blood flow to the heart, fetus, uterus, and kidneys. The NHS also recommends sleeping on your side, specifically advising pregnant individuals to avoid falling asleep on their back.
As Midwife Pip says, the benefits can be wide ranging, "Pregnancy pillows can be a total game-changer for so many expecting mums, especially as the pregnancy progresses and finding a comfy position feels like solving a puzzle. They offer amazing support for your back, tummy, and hips, helping relieve pressure and making it easier to stay in that recommended side-sleeping position. Plus, they can help with things like back pain, leg cramps, and even heartburn by keeping you propped up just right."
How to choose the best pregnancy pillow for your needs
When choosing the best pregnancy pillow, it's worth taking the time to decide why you need one. Do you want to ease pelvic girdle pain? Do you want to keep your neck and back aligned? Do you tend to roll onto your back in the night? Would you benefit from bump support? Then, think about the type of fabric you might prefer. Explore the different size and shape - each one offers different benefits and also consider factors like the support level, washability, how easy it might be to travel with, and whether you want to use it postnatally.
Factors to consider when choosing a pregnancy pillow
Support: Like regular cushions that you rest your head on, pregnancy pillows come in different support options. Whether you want firm support or something softer to mould to your body, you'll be able to find the right one for you.
The size: It's no secret that pregnancy pillows can take up quite a bit of space. Your other half might find themselves relegated to the very edge of the bed unless you have a King Size bed. You also need to consider storage so if this is going to be an issue, you could consider a more compact pillow.
Value for money: While the initial price is a consideration, it's also worth thinking about how often you will use it, and whether it's something you'll use after the birth. A more expensive pillow might be off-putting but it could be worth the investment if you can then use it longer than a cheaper one (especially if you can put it on your baby shower gift list!).
Uses: With that in mind, ask whether the pillow can be used in different ways. For instance, the bbhugme and Najell pregnancy pillows are more expensive than others but offer more versatile uses.
Material: If you have been suffering from night sweats or hot flushes, the best prenatal pillow for you will be one with a breathable material, like cotton.
Filling: Midwife Pip recommends checking the filling when buying a pregnancy pillow, and offers the following advice:
• Memory Foam: Offers firm, contouring support but can retain heat.
• Polyfill (Polyester Fibre): Softer, fluffier, and lightweight.
• Microbeads: Malleable and cooling but less supportive.
• Organic Fillings (Cotton, Buckwheat, Kapok): Hypoallergenic but can be firmer
Cleaning: You'll be using it a lot, so you'll want to ensure you can wash it. Most pillows have removable covers that you can wash so we asked our mums to consider how easy it was to remove the cover when washing, while other pillows can be popped directly in the washing machine.

How do you use a pregnancy pillow? We ask an expert
How you use your specific pillow depends on the shape of the pillow you choose and the type of support your body needs. You may also like to read our how to use a pregnancy pillow guide, which outlines each shape and how to use it.
A pregnancy pillow can be used to stop you rolling onto your back and make it more comfortable to sleep on your side by supporting the hips and knees and keeping the spine aligned. Midwife Pip explains, "It’s important for pregnant women to avoid sleeping flat on their back after a certain point in pregnancy (usually after the second trimester) because of how it affects circulation and the pressure on key blood vessels."
Midwife Pip notes that "while pregnancy pillows are great for comfort, it’s important not to use one in a way that restricts your movement or feels uncomfortable. Keep the pillow flexible so you can adjust it if necessary. Avoid positioning it in a way that could put pressure on your belly, especially in the later stages of pregnancy. And, as always, listen to your body, if something doesn’t feel right, try repositioning until it feels comfortable!"
Tips for better sleep during pregnancy
Not getting enough sleep during pregnancy can impact the growth and development of your baby, and may increase the risk of pre-term delivery, pre-eclampsia, and gestational diabetes. That’s why it’s important to prioritise rest, though, we know getting enough sleep can be challenging when you’re coping with a growing bump, heartburn, back pain, and hormonal changes. To help you get the rest you need while nurturing your little one, here are some tips and advice for better sleep during pregnancy.
Decide on a sleep schedule – Make sleep a priority. Decide when you will sleep to get your 8-10 hours a night and stick to it. It’s not a good idea to nap as this upsets your natural nightly sleep drive.
Sleep position – Always sleep on your side and not on your back. When you lie on your back, the weight of the pregnant uterus presses down on the blood supply to and from the placenta. Some experts recommend lying on your left side is preferable as this puts less pressure on the lungs and heart.
Sleep hygiene – This needs to be excellent. A cool, dark bedroom with comfortable hypoallergenic bedding and a supportive mattress. Use blackout blinds or curtains, and/or a dark eye mask. Note that the optimum temperature for sleep in pregnancy is between 60 - 68F (15.5 - 20C). The body needs to lower its temperature to sleep. Being too hot is a common reason for finding it hard to get to sleep and waking frequently at night.
No caffeine – Caffeine is a CNS stimulant which keeps you awake. Excess caffeine is linked to miscarriage, low birthweight and stillbirth. Pregnant women should have no more than 200 mg of caffeine per day (around 2 cups of instant coffee). As it has a long half-life, you should not drink coffee within 6 - 8 hours of bedtime. For those prone to poor sleep, 10 hours may be more realistic. Caffeine is also found in chocolate, tea, cola, and energy drinks.
FAQ Pregnancy pillows
What month should I get a pregnancy pillow?
Most women buy a pregnancy pillow when they're in the second trimester, but it really depends on when you feel you need one to help support your bump in bed.
Is a C shape or U shape pregnancy pillow better?

Why can't I sleep on my right side while pregnant?
