M&B says: Three different recline settings make the Casualplay Sono highly adaptable.
It’s particularly suitable for younger babies who tend to fall asleep in the car, as they can lie completely flat during travel. The base can be purchased separately and has a visual indicator showing when the seat is safely installed. This seat can also be attached to certain pushchair frames.
It’s light enough to carry comfortably between the car and the pushchair, unlike some car seats with good recline features. It’s good value too.
Tested by mum Aimée Higby, 25, from Essex, is mum to Aiden, six weeks old. She says:
‘Lightweight and easy to carry, even with Aiden in it. But once we removed the newborn inlay, I didn’t feel this was as comfy as others we tested.’
Tested by mum Helen Wood, 31, from Cambridgeshire, mum to Ethan, six months. She says:
‘Lightweight, easy to recline, and well-padded. But the handle is fiddly to adjust and impractical, making it hard to get my baby in and out easily.’
Tested by Cora Fleming, 35, from Ipswich, mum to Lyla, 12 months. She says:
‘The awkward handle position lets down this otherwise really practical seat. It’s fine for occasional use in the car, but works best attached to a pushchair frame.’
