MAM Trainer Cup

Our panel of mum testers loved the MAM Trainer Cup, with its eye-catching design, grippy handles and non-spill teat. One standout feature is the measurements up the side of the cup, allowing you to keep track of your baby’s fluid intake throughout the day, making it the ideal weaning product for baby.

What they say:

“The MAM Trainer Bottle is a sippy cup with non-spill soft spout and handles. Its soft teat helps with the transition from breast or bottle to cup, and extra small handles are designed for baby's hands and are easy to hold. It features a wide opening for easy filling and cleaning and has a capacity of 220ml/8oz.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This bottle allows babies to drink for themselves and is very trustworthy. In my experience, the liquid stays securely inside and there have been no disasters. Also, it is easy for little hands to hold, plus it’s easy to clean! The design is very nice, it is more interesting than a regular, plain sippy cup. The bottle has ounces written on the side so you can keep track of how much fluid baby is taking, which is very handy.

How did this product make your life easier?

The product is very easy to use, just hand it to baby and you can trust there will be no spillages or accidents. What I love is that it gives baby a sense of independence, whilst also allowing me to get on with other things without worrying.  Baby loves being able to drink by himself without being handled by me, he can go back to it whenever he feels like it.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes I would choose this product, mainly due to its unique and eye catching design, which makes my baby want to pick it up. The only slight problem is that my baby likes to bite rather than suck the teat, and therefore getting the liquid out is sometimes difficult. If there was a way to change the consistency of the material to be less hard and bite-able, that would be great!

What changes would you make to this product?

When the teat is bitten, all the liquid pours out, which makes my baby splutter. I imagine this is a common problem as babies begin to latch. This could maybe be considered in the future when MAM design teats for future bottles.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes, I certainly would recommend this to a friend and family as the design of the bottle made it easy for my son to drink, without any risk of choking. What is great is that you can turn the bottle upside down and no liquid leaks out, this makes mealtimes much less messy! The bottle is also very easy to clean.

How did this product make your life easier?

I have bought numerous sippy cups for my son to start weaning and found that all of them used to leak, or he started to choke on the water as it came out so fast. Another issue was that he couldn’t grip the cup easily, but since using this product, all of these problems have been solved! Happy baby, happy mum.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, I would certainly pick this product as it was a massive help in our weaning process! It is well designed, easy to grip, a funky design and encourages my baby to drink on his own! I certainly will be buying more MAM products as they are not overly priced either.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing about this product, I would make it a little cheaper and change the handle to make it a little bigger for baby to grip. Otherwise it’s great!

Would you recommend this MAM Trainer Cup to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this product to fellow mums as I have got on so well with it, it is easy to take apart and wash and even easier for little hands to use and hold. It does exactly what it says it says on the tin! In my experience, it didn’t leak, which was great as other beakers have spilt everywhere in the past.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product has completely changed my life and made everything so much easier! My 16-month-old boy would not accept any beaker I put in front of him, he would just revert back to his bottle, but he loves this MAM Trainer Cup! Now he drinks out of it no problem.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would most definitely choose this beaker above all others - I loved it so much that I shall be buying my twin girls two more. I absolutely love the fact that the lid is a measuring cup and have never seen anything like that on the market.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would like there to be more colour options for the beaker as I have three children who fight over whose is whose. Maybe the beaker could have a bigger handle as my son had trouble getting his fingers through the handles.

Would you recommend this MAM Trainer Cup to other mums?

I would recommend this bottle as I loved the colourful design and the shape of the bottle. It easily fits in changing bags and doesn’t leak, provided the lid is fitted correctly. It holds a large amount of liquid which is great if out for the day! The product is very easy to clean and easy to store while at home.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product makes life easier as once my son eventually grasped how to use the teat, at six and a half months, it allowed me to carry a large amount of liquid out with me. The clear measurements on the side of the bottle mean I can check how much he has had to drink, and they show no side of fading unlike some other bottles. I find the teat a lot easier to clean too as it is wider.

Would you choose this product to win?

I don’t think I would choose this product over all others on the market, as my son finds the teat quite big for his mouth. We also found the top very fidgety when screwing it on. On the plus side, as the bottle is quite tall, it fits in the highchair drinks holder easily, as the handles don't get in the way. Another plus is the amount of liquid the bottle holds, which comes in useful especially in hot weather.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would improve this product by reducing the teat size. I think for a baby transitioning from a bottle to a teat, this size is slightly too large. Maybe different size teats could be created to allow the baby to slowly transition to the larger one.

Would you recommend this MAM Trainer Cup to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this cup to friends and family and have already done so. The little design is great and my daughter seems to like it. I use this as her water cup and it works so well!

How did this product make your life easier?

This product makes my life easier as my daughter can now feed herself using this little cup, which then frees me up to do all the other jobs I’ve got to do. Even though this cup looks different from her milk bottles, she took to it straight away which is testament to the quality of the product! The design is really cute and the handles are the perfect size.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, I think I would choose this product over others on the market. The design is really colourful and girly (we use the pink one) and it's nice and big, which allows for less refilling. I do think this should win as it's exactly what it says it is, a cup trainer! My daughter loves it and looks all grown up and proud of herself when drinking her water.

What changes would you make to this product?

I wouldn’t change anything in particular as this has been a perfect little aid for getting my daughter used to drinking from a cup.
