At a glance:

These cute Milk Monsters look great and avoid you throwing away milk when it is still safe for your baby to drink. Our panel of mum testers loved this product and said it took the faff out of worrying when they'd made a bottle. That said, if your baby tends to finish their bottle straight away, this probably isn't worth investing in.

What they say:

"Over time both bottled breast milk and formula decrease in nutritional value and develop bacteria that can be harmful for your baby. Milk Monster helps to keep your baby’s milk safe & nutritional, whilst limiting your milk waste by tracking the safe duration time of the milk as set by you! Once Milk Monster is attached you can instantly see which milk bottle is active and track the safe drinking time remaining. Milk Monster has a multitude of features to ensure it’s child-friendly and baby-proof.

Milk Monster quickly and easily fits all bottle sizes, has handy glow in the dark features to help locate your bottle for night feeds, a backlit screen to read the timer in the dark and the splash-proof, dishwasher-friendly design also means the Milk Monster can withstand anything baby throws at it – literally!"

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this product to any bottle-feeding parent and have since told a few friends about it - they already want one! As a first-time parent, safety is paramount and I am always looking for gadgets and products that make this easier. I am so glad that I have this product for peace of mind.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product is a must-have for me now and I don't leave the house without it. I didn’t realise how much milk I threw away until I used this, it is brilliant for saving money in that respect. Not only do I know when I should be heating up the milk but I also know when it is unsafe for my baby to drink.

Would you choose this product to win?

I have not seen any other product like this on the market so it definitely gets my vote! The fun variety of colours and designs make the product really stand out - there are not many safety products that you would call fun! Although a simple idea, it really does make a big difference now and I always rely on it.

What changes would you make to this product?

I love the colours and the design of the product and I think it’s good value for money, so wouldn’t change anything!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this product as it's such a great little gadget to have. As mums we have so many things to remember and trying to recall when you made the last bottle can be difficult – we do make quite a few a day! I think the Milk Monster looks great and is very easy to use. I also love the glow in the dark element.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product has made my life easier because I just don't need to think about when the bottle needs to be thrown away as I can now easily look at the Milk Monster! It works so effectively and can be easily transferable from one bottle to the next within seconds. My baby only has three to four bottles a day and some are with his lunch so he doesn't finish them, so instead of throwing the milk away and wasting it I just pop on the milk monster. I like the fact that you can take the screen out of the outer case so you can give it a good wash.

Would you choose this product to win?

I haven't seen anything like this product on the market before. When George was very small, I used to put a timer on my phone, which was a right faff, so this product has made my life a lot easier! I think this product should win.

What changes would you make to this product?

I wouldn't change anything about the product, I think it's great.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would highly recommend this product to mums with babies who don't finish their bottle in one go. We are always tired and busy and it’s hard to remember to take a note of the time when you prepare a bottle. This product allows you to keep track of how long ago you made up the milk and therefore informs you whether it is still safe to drink! It had a fun monster design which my partner loves. It is small, washable and even has a glow in the dark feature in the middle of the night which is a god send!

How did this product make your life easier?

It means you don't have to worry about giving your baby unsafe milk that may be full of bacteria! You don't have to spend time thinking ‘do I risk it’? Often, I just end up making a whole new bottle just in case. This product is genius.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes. Life gets busy with children and trying to remember when you made up the last bottle can be impossible unless you happen to be wonder woman. This product makes such a difference in our lives.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would like it if the Milk Monster could give me some kind of warning sound, or a vibration, to let me know when there is only 20 minutes left to use the milk. This would mean even less milk would be wasted.

Tested by mum Rebecca Hoskyns for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product to mums with babies that don’t drink all their bottle at once. My child drinks all their milk and there is rarely any leftover, so for that reason it is of no particular use to us. But I can see the appeal if you had this problem!

How did this product make your life easier?

This product saves milk from going in the sink before it is necessary and this is useful for either breast feeding or formula feeding, as milk is liquid gold either way! It also means there are less bottles to wash up which saves time.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would not choose this product above all others as it does not suit my particular needs, but I can see that it would be helpful for many other mums!

What changes would you make to this product?

I would change the design, as I thought the green was a little garish. Also, the brand could consider linking it up to an app?

Tested by mum Katy Groom for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product to a fellow mum if their baby didn't drink all their milk at once. It would enable them to keep track of the time on the bottle, to ensure they didn't breach the two hours recommended time limit on milk. However, my daughter is a gulper so it didn't really come in very useful to us, she was more interested in playing with it.

How did this product make your life easier?

I think it would help a lot of mums, especially with newborns. You can be very sleep deprived it can be easy to lose track of time, so this would mean you’d never give bad milk to baby.

Would you choose this product to win?

I haven't seen anything like this before on the market, but I know there is an app that does the same thing. Therefore, I would not choose this product to win as I could get the app a lot cheaper I’m sure.

What changes would you make to this product?

The buttons on the Milk Monster were quite hard to press, that was a slight problem that could be improved.
