Testing the Ingenuity Soothing Baby Bouncer Chair
For me as a parent, a baby bouncer is a god-send to put my baby in when I need to grab a quick snack between feeds, take a shower or settle my daughter during the dreaded witching hour. We have had the pleasure of testing out the Ingenuity Soothing Baby Bouncer Chair, which is a standalone baby bouncer offering a comfortable, safe space for baby to rest with a cute toy bar with two toys, an array of musical melodies, vibration mode, detachable newborn head support and a 3-point safety harness.
The Ingenuity Soothing Baby Bouncer Chair arrives flat-packed with a soft velvety grey chair fabric in a beautiful blue, white and orange background print that's pleasant, unisex and non-garish.

The bouncer body was easy to assemble as you click the main chair frame into place, starting with the legs first, secured with rubber non-slip feet, a toy bar with an adorable lion and elephant plushies that easily opens up to let baby in and out of the chair, a secure harness with a supportive pouch and a melody/vibration box.
The baby bouncer does not come with batteries, so you will need three C batteries and a screwdriver to get the melody box working. The chair came with easy-to-read pictorial instructions, so you can assemble it in only a few easy steps.

Suitable from birth and for babies up to 9kg (roughly 19lbs), the Ingenuity bouncer is a lovely addition that my daughter loved from the moment she first sat in the chair. The comfortable fabric was very inviting and my daughter was mesmerised by the lion and the elephant toys on the toy bar. As she moved, the gentle rocking of the chair helped to self-soothe and offered great entertainment.

With 8 tuneful songs (that won't drive you mad with adjustable volume!) which helpfully powers off after 20 minutes to conserve battery and scalable vibration mode, the baby bouncer chair offers variety for babies to suit their needs and wants. There was also a head support pillow that can be attached with velcro to the chair for newborns; however, as my daughter is a bit bigger, we did not have to use this, but it is a nice addition for teeny tots.

I was impressed with the bouncer's height and lightweight. This means I can easily move the chair from room to room so I can keep an eye on my baby and get on with tasks while she watches the world go by from the comfort of the cradle chair. The chair position also feels at a nice, safe distance from the floor and is supportive of the baby's head, neck, and back.
The harness straps are very secure in supporting my baby and can be adjusted as they grow. The chair fabric is also machine-washable, offering peace of mind for cleaning up inevitable messes! I also personally loved the bouncer's style, which fitted in well with our home decor in a fun fabric print that was easy on the eye.

Final verdict
Whilst there are a few similar vibration and musical bouncers on the market, such as the Bright Starts, BABABING and LADIDA chairs, Ingenuity prides itself on the cosy comfort of the bouncer, creating a soothing space for babies.
Retailing at £54.99 and available to purchase on Amazon (though often on offer on Amazon), the bouncer is middle of the road priced in comparison to competitors, but is cheaper than the ergonomic wooden style bouncers that don't all offer any musical or vibration modes.
My only downsides from the bouncer are that the plushie toys are not individually detached from the toy bar, meaning a baby can't learn to grab them off the bar, and the toy bar is not height-adjustable, so it stays at the same level as the baby grows.

The bouncer also has a weight limit, so it is best recommended for newborns up to around the age of six months. This means it has quite a short shelf life. In contrast, some bouncers such as the Nuna Leaf Grow, now convert to toddler chairs, offering the ability to adapt with your child and more longevity for your money.
It has been a joy to see my daughter enjoy the Ingenuity baby bouncer, and I would thoroughly recommend this bouncer to others who want a cosy space for babies in those first few precious months of their first year.
