The GroEgg2 works as a night light and has all the same qualities of The Gro Company's original nursery thermometer. The Tommee Tippee GroEgg2 comes with some additional, improved features including a new sleek, silicone design which is 33% bigger and brighter, making it softer to touch and even easier to see at a glance. It makes it easier to check your little one is resting at the correct temperature. In addition to an innovative colour-changing system and handy temperature display, the GroEgg2 has adjustable brightness allowing it to be used as a nightlight or to find a light level that suits your baby.

How did this product make your life easier?

Salina: The Tommee Tippee GroEgg2 is brilliant, it allows me to be able to dress my baby in the right clothes for the room temperature - preventing him from being either too hot or too cold. The digital indicator makes it easier to see what the room temperature is at first glance - handy in the dark, the option to alter the light intensity means I can brighten it for nappy changes and dim it for a feed.

Cerys: I think one of the main things we worry about as parents, and especially as first-time parents is what to dress the baby in. Do they have plenty of layers on etc? I personally worried most about this at night time, and so I liked having the groegg in the room to not only see the room temperature but also what is optimum for a baby. I found the guide on the box really helpful for knowing what to dress a baby in at each temperature range also.

Dvora: I love a product that comes with quick, simple instructions and can be set up in under five minutes. Being able to see the nursery temperature in both colour terms and actual temperature during these very hot days has really helped me with knowing what to dress the babies in at night time. The 'red' colour makes it easy for me to know it's hot without having to try and remember what temperature is too hot for a sleep bag etc.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Jeni: This is so easy to use, it works as soon as you plug it in! No need to set it up or anything. The colours indicate the warmth so you don't necessarily need to see what the digital reading is at the bottom of the egg. The design is really clean and isn't an eyesore like some other thermometers I have seen!

Katie: I would recommend Tommee Tippee GroEgg2 as I previously stated it gives me peace of mind as a mum I know the exact temperature so I know she is comfortable. The fact it doubles as a night light is also a bonus. On the box, it also has a guide of which to dress baby in which temperature zone with sleeping bags.

Mel: I would definitely recommend this product to a friend. I have had the previous version of the groegg in my eldest's room for the last 5 years and it is still going strong. I love the new version, the nightlight is so bright and it is so easy to see the temperature with the new display. I think everyone should have one of these in their child's room.

Would you choose this product to win?

Samantha: I don’t think this is a number one essential product to own as we have a plugin nest thermostat that we can move to different rooms which tells us the temperature, and turns our heating on for us if it drops below a certain temperature. However, if you didn’t own one of these then it is incredibly useful and I would definitely recommend, especially for anyone anxious about their baby’s sleeping temperature. The nightlight is also a useful feature if you don’t own a separate one.

Cerys: I’m not aware of other products on the market that act as a room thermometer and a night light, or that have such a useful guide for dressing babies. I really like how it lights different colours to indicate how the temperature compares to what it should be. I think most new parents I know use one and have said how useful they find it also.

Laura: I would choose this product firstly due to the well-established brand. I also love the soft silicone design; it’s been knocked over a few times and is still good as new. The night light is nice for babies to look at but can also be switched off for bedtime which is great. The display is clear and easy to read, the set up was simple and the temperature recorded seem accurate, which is really helpful for bedtime.

What changes would you make to this product?

Dvora: Having a brighter light feature on the Tommee Tippee GroEgg2 would be good. Currently, the four levels of brightness go from barely any light to very low light. It would be nice to have a bright light level so that I could see well enough to change a nappy without having to turn another light on. I like to have the bedroom brighter than the night light allows for so I can see the children sleeping in the night and know that they are OK.

Salina: Although the new design has an easier to view temperature indicator it makes the product bigger than the original gro egg, not by much but the smaller more compact design was nicer I feel. The button is on the base of the egg so you really need two hands to alter the egg light not so easy when feeding a baby.

Jeni: I think the Tommee Tippee GroEgg2 is great as it is. I understand that it is bigger than the original but I wouldn't mind it even bigger (just for the night light purpose.) This product has been a great addition to our nursery and we would definitely pay the RRP for it. Thank you for letting us review it for you!
