Testing the Bebecar Minipop Trio
We were excited to put this to the test as a family of three - with a baby nephew too - to see how this would compare to other prams we have used throughout our time. Versatility is key, and we look for being able to easily push a chair across all terrains and not feel like we are transporting a tank around with us. We also look for ease of folding, while being light and not taking up too much space.

Upon receiving the pram, it was packed so well in only two boxes. All the parts of the pram are wrapped in a thick wrap, so if you are at stage one of just needing the carrycot and the car seat, you can leave the other elements safely stored away. Plus, all the pram's key features were protected from movement in transportation.
It was super easy to follow the instructions; however, in a few areas, an instructional video may have helped in trickier areas to follow. The pram clicks together smoothly and seamlessly – here is where you notice the luxury and why it costs over the £1k region. The materials look beautiful (available in five shades) and is made from super soft wipe clean leatherette, the carry cot constructed with a plastic-free structure, a recycled wood base, and breathable, soft fabrics – it’s without a doubt a naturally nurturing space for your baby to rest. Each part is so well made, and feels like a strong, tailored design to be fashion forward whilst being so practical.

The one-handed, compact folding is ideal when you’re on the move or holding baby. This is displayed across the whole pram with easy-release buttons and smooth transitions on each part of the pram's removal or storage.

Suitable from birth, this lie-flat car seat feature is one that you don't see so much across other brands, and is fantastic for keeping baby comfortable.
An all-wheel suspension with easy, simple steering means you can pop this around with one hand across all terrains, including country park grass fields! The suspension absorbs bumps and surface irregularities.

Paired with breathable windows, the extendable sections provide super sun protection with UPF50+ for full coverage over your little one. Its softFRESH™ mattress adapts to baby’s shape and offers comfort and support wherever you go.

The Bébécar MiniPop Trio switches between stages effortlessly, with simple release catches on the different seats, and a wheel locking feature button, which means you’re not running around your pram stomping and trying to get the wheels to comply! At every stage, the baby feels safe and secure thanks to the 5-point harness within the car seat and the pram attachment.

The hood of the carrycot serves brilliantly as a wind protector along with the lift-up flap from the cover. Being able to pull out the extended hood to increase sun protection is also an added bonus. The pram's brakes are sharp and structured within the foot pedal compared to some flimsier-feeling alternatives available on the market. Safety and security for the car seat can be increased with the add-on option of an ISOFIX base, which would very much be our preference.

In terms of size, Bébécar say that this pram is compact, at just 54cm wide. Although to handle and visually the seat may appear compact… we found it wasn’t so much. We have a rather large boot on our car (Volvo XC60) and we didn’t find it easy to fit the folded chassis and carrycot within the boot without having to remove elements such as boot shades – plus it also meant it would be quite high up as the carrycot wouldn’t let the boot close on one orientation, where we had little to no room left for shopping.
In that matter, it’s a shame, as we always like to be able not to have to keep the baby in the car seat on longer trips out, giving them a chance to stretch out. However, the space on the shopping basket was very generous, aiding a quicker trip around your favourite store.

Final verdict
The Bébécar MiniPop Trio is an all-round travel system that manoeuvres well, looks the part and portrays luxury as well as practicality. Wonderfully elegant, protective and even comes with available extras to add to its style (footmuff, matching bag and parasol). We would love to see a version of this pram just a smidgen smaller to help with weight and ability to pack into a smaller car – to just make it that all round perfect seat for us in particular. Also, older children may struggle to last and grow with the seat due to its current compactness, my four year old is tall and couldn’t sit in the pram element.

The MiniPop system is available as a trio or duo (without the car seat). It is offered in a selection of stunning leatherette fabrics that wipe clean. Plus, a matching bag and footmuff are available separately, along with a coordinating parasol that perfectly complements the seat liner.
The market for travel systems really varies in cost and the minipop seems to sit with the higher end of the scale, but I think compromise is needed and if you could afford this pram, I’d get it for the pure joy in the smooth ride, and just the luxury it exudes from the features and finishing touches.
