The DockATot La Maman Wedge nursing pillow at a glance

This is a stylish, plush nursing pillow cleverly disguised to look like a normal cushion in your home. It’s made from easy-clean velvet, with a concealed zipped, is curved for ergonomic satisfaction and sizes up at: 58cm x 33 cm x 17cm. Use it as a nursing or pregnancy pillow, there are a lot of options here.

How did this product make your life easier?

This really is a multi-purpose nursing pillow, we use it for comfort during breastfeeding, to prop up as a back support for myself, for my little one to lay on, as a head rest when watching the tele. Did I mention how uber chic it looks on my sofa?

While the price tag is not extortionate, but is on the pricey side, I love how this pillow makes me feel. As a mum you spend most of your time focussed on your children and along with the products in can often feel like your house is consumed by baby stuff. However, this pillow makes me feel like I’ve got something for myself first.

When my son’s asleep in his room and I do a round of tidying up, the La Maman Wedge stays out in all its glory. Although we can’t have visitors round at the moment, I don’t think many people will distinguish this as a nursing pillow. Bonus.

I love that this is in a wedge shape and curves around my body to support my son in my arms. My previous nursing pillow (the Tutti Bambini breastfeeding pillow) is U-shaped and felt too high up on both sides while nursing. The U-shape also proved discomfort for my healing c-section scar as it could only sit perched across my body. The La Maman Wedge, gives a bit of freedom here, while still allowing full support to my arms while feeding.

Would you recommend this to other parents?

I guess it depends what you’re looking for. If a sleek, chic design is your cup of tea (or coffee) and you can afford to splash out £90, then yes, go for it.

It’s comfortable, soft, beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed the wedge aspect. See my point above on the wedge shape love. There’s no more trying to fumble to get one part of the nursing pillow squashed under your arm, while the other arm tries to feed baby. This wedge, almost mimics the shape of your baby with one edge being thicker and the narrower end suitable for baby’s feet to perch comfortably on.

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

It’s one of those products I’d probably put on my baby shower gift wish list for a friend or family member to purchase, if they were feeling generous. It’s on the high end of price points in comparison to what’s on the market, however it is undeniably gorgeous, and I wouldn’t mind splashing out in, if mat leave pay allowed it.

This nursing pillow feels exclusive and stands the test of time, quite literally, as it is designed by DockATot for sustainable use, to live long past the year (or two in my case) of nursing.

What changes would you make to this product?

One change here… while the tassel is a beautiful addition to the design of this clever nursing pillow, I would remove the small wooden ball that is placed between the tassel and cushion. If you sit in the wrong position, that little bugger digs into your side or elbow. Not pleasant.
