ThisIsSilk Pure Silk Pillowcase at a glance

Silk is a highly technical fabric as well as a luxurious one. A silk pillowcase provides sensory comfort when sleep is elusive, whether that is as a result of hormonal changes in pregnancy or afterwards,or because the baby is too young to sleep through. Silk helps with hormonal temperature changes (hot flushes) postpartum and makes sleep more comfortable.

A silk pillowcase also helps to hydrate and maintain delicate facial skin at a time when a skincare routine is harder to maintain. Silk does this naturally, without synthetic chemicals and is machine washable.

How did this product make your life easier?

Vanessa Balch says: "After such a long day , from cooking , to cleaning , you want to be able to Relax and switch off as soon as you get into bed! I have never had silk pillow cases and using this has completely changed my mind! It’s so soft and smooth and I would definitely invest in getting more, I love how it does not crease either."

Vicky Bantock says: "Having never had a silk pillowcase before I was a little bit sceptical. However I have found that it gives me a really good night sleep. I like that the product is cool on my skin, making it easier to settle after a busy day. Although it doesn't make my life any easier, I am certainly having more restful nights which is a definite bonus!"

Caroline Copp says: "A good night’s sleep is so important as a mum (and for everyone). Equally important is feeling good about yourself and your appearance but you don’t have much time. The silk pillow case helps you improve your sleep - it’s cooling or warming, kind to your skin and hair and feels luxurious. At the same time, it’s simple to use and doesn’t require any effort other than lying down!"

Would you recommend this product to other parents?

Jamielee Cowie says: "I would recommend this product to a fellow Mom firstly because of its brilliant quality, the company also provide you with very clear instructions on how to care for your silk pillowcase it is very comfortable to sleep on and is often cooler than any other pillows on the bed which is perfect for warmer nights."

Katie Molloy says: "The packaging of the product was beautiful and it felt like a real treat when it arrived so would make a lovely gift. The texture of the pillow case is lovely and the colour was nice too. It was very comfortable to sleep on and felt like a real treat. I also found my hair was less fly away in the morning. Its machine washable which makes it very convenient to clean but would need to be hung out to dry."

Emma Oddy says: "The pillowcase arrived beautifully wrapped and packaged with the additional bonus of a silk hair scrunchie. There was a hand written note which added a nice personal touch. The benefits of the silk pillowcase are improved sleep, reduction in static on hair and skin, I’ve only been using the product for a week but my hair and skin do feel softer."

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Anna Parfitt says: "The packaging is lovely. It comes with an additional hair band which is an added bonus. As a parent this would not be high on my list of priorities. It prevents static hair and makes a nice comfortable surface that is also cool for sleeping. I havent seen a huge market in silk pillow covers, there may not be others available."

Vanessa Balch says: "I definitely with choose this now, you have completely changed my mind from using silk products. I think this product should win, because out of everything a good night sleep should always be first. It affects how you’ll start your day. I also love the gently cream colour and how it’s easier to look after."

Vicky Bantock says: "I love the feel and the quality of the product. It came beautifully packaged as well which always makes things feel more luxurious. I feel it would be a definite treat for any new mum, and sleep is precious in those first few weeks and months (and even years!) I like that it has additional benefits to the skin as well."

What changes would you make to this product?

Caroline Copp says: "I can’t think of any changes needed because the product is simple and natural as well as being undyed. An option of purchasing two pillow cases together could be considered so that you have a set for your bed. Alternatively, some more detailing could be included but really, I am not sure anything is needed."

Jamielee Cowie says: "There isn't anything I would change about this product, from start to finish it is amazing. It is packaged carefully and comes in a box which has a luxe feeling to it, the product is the correct colour and comes with clear and concise instructions to follow to keep it soft and avoid discolouration. It is also good value for the money and I am considering buying another."

Katie Molloy says: "The pillow case was lovely to use and felt like a lovely gift. However the size of the pillow case was much bigger than the standard sized pillows we had on our bed. I wasnt sure if this was because some people have bigger/fuller pillows than ours but it may be worth having them in a range of sizes so it doesn't slip off the pillow."
