Lansinoh Post-Birth Wash Bottle at a glance

After birth, the perineal area can be stressed, tender and sensitive to touch. Use the Lansinoh Post Birth Wash Bottle to gently wash this sensitive area and soothe post-birth discomfort with a cleansing stream of water. The bottle comes with a collapsible spout and storage bag so it's easy to pack in your hospital bag or baby bag.

We spoke to these real parent testers to get their review...

How did this product make your life easier?

Kate: In the first few days being postpartum, life is incredibly difficult, hectic and emotional. Everyone tells you to take time to heal and look after yourself but this is easier said than done - especially when you have a needy baby that requires most of your time. This product provides a really quick and effective way to wash and clean yourself and is much more time-efficient than running a bath and then cleaning the bath afterwards. It means you can take care of yourself physically and save yourself valuable time which is very precious in the first few days.

Sharon: As a new mum this product allows you to soothe and clean yourself quickly, easily and as often as you like without needing to have a shower each time. This saves a lot of time and effort, which is something you just don't have time for when you have a newborn on your hands requiring all of your time and attention.

Jasmin: Being tender and sore after birth is a given. If you are one of the many women to have some stitches and grazes then this little bottle will be great to help to keep stitches clean and hopefully avoid infections. As it comes with a collapsible spout and a little store away pouch which is very discreet, it’s perfect to pop it into your hospital bag or handbag for when out and about after birth.

Would you recommend this to other parents?

Debbie: Yes I would highly recommend this product. This peri bottle is essential if you have had a natural birth. It helps to relieve pain when you urinate and cleans the area which is really important if you have stitches. It's so easy to unscrew the top, fill it with warm water and the head of the bottle is simple to aim even upside down. The product is also easy to wash.

Kate: I would recommend this product because it’s so easy to use. It also means I save a lot of time keeping my stitches clean in the first days and weeks after childbirth. It is a lot easier to use this product rather than having a shower or running a bath after going to the toilet every time and therefore saves a lot of time.

Meryam: I would recommend this to a friend or fellow mom as it was a product that I was able to take to the hospital with me and I had not considered this before packing my hospital bag. This has helped me a lot during my stay at the hospital as a first-time mother and when I returned home I was a belt I effectively use it there as well.

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Kate: Yes I would choose this product above others on the market because it feels like it is made of very good quality plastics and is very well made. It is also very reasonably priced compared to others on the market. The competitors are either the same price or slightly cheaper but do not look as good quality. Also this one comes with a travel bag which is handy.

Debbie: This product should absolutely win an award. I haven't used any other brand peri bottles, but having used this one I don't feel the need to try any others as this fulfils the need. The ergonomic design of the bottle has indents that make it easy to squeeze the water out. The stand out feature of this product is simply the fact that it reduces the pain significantly post-birth.

Sharon: I wasn't aware these products even existed however I would definitely recommend this one based on its feel and usability and it is quite stylish for a cleaning bottle! Plus I find Lanisoh products are such good quality that I have no hesitation in thinking the best product design has gone into making this the best on the market.

What changes would you make to this product?

Kate: I may have overlooked this on the packaging but it took me a moment to realise I had to pull out the spout and screw it into place. Perhaps really clear instructions on the box would have made this process quicker. However, the product was pretty intuitive and it was easy to work this out without explicit instructions.

Jasmin: I wouldn’t change anything about the Lansinoh Post-Birth Wash Bottle. It's clearly very well designed and thought through, and achieves the objective it is supposed to address. Another big bonus is that’s it’s easy to clean and store away to ensure you are always cleaning yourself with fresh water, and for the next parenting journey to come.

Jenna: Having spoken with some friends I have found some mothers may wish for the bottle to be more discreet. This could be achieved by offering alternative colours for the bottle, such as white or black to avoid attention being drawn to it. I personally quite liked the purple colour of the bottle and understand it is linked with the brand.
