How to come up with futuristic names

A great advantage of a future-proof baby name is their name will always be trending! So give your baby a futuristic name they will be proud of and make them stand out confidently.

Obviously we can't look into the future to know what futuristic names will actually be, but there's lots of sci-fi sounding inspiration in existing names, even from ancient sources such as Greek mythology names - you'd be surprised how many names of Ancient Greek origin are used for your favourite sci-fi characters.

Of course you can also decide to create your own futuristic name. A few tips for making your own name are:

• Think about pronunciation and spelling

• Make it meaningful - research the meaning behind names, are there any characteristics that you'd like your child to have, or a meaning that resonates with you?

• Is there a more traditional name you like the sound of that you could spell differently or change to make it more unique and sound more futuristic?

• Look back at ancient cultures and peoples, and other languages - as mentioned above, some of these names sound much more modern than you'd expect.

• There are also lots of futuristic name generators online aimed at writers of fantasy.
