We spoke to these real parent testers to get their review...

How did this product make your life easier?

Charlotte: I loved using this style of wrap when my son was a newborn as I could use the wrap around the house with him securely close to me whilst getting on with everyday tasks. It felt like wearing another item of clothing rather than a big bulky carrier. This wrap is also great if you are breastfeeding with them in it and baby decides to fall asleep as you do not need to disturb them. You can simply wrap baby back around you and carry on with them supported close to you.

Catia: This wrap did help me a lot, my son is a baby that wants to be held all the time, so this was a god send. I put my son on the wrap and he goes to sleep straight away, and it’s so easy to put on and take it off. Also having three children, being hands free on the school run it’s great. It’s great to do some housework, also I was really amazed that I managed to breastfeed my son while having him wrapped.

Jacqui: I am an avid sling and wrap user and this is a must have in order to get things done around the house and do the supermarket shop. My girls loved being on my chest as newborns (particularly my eldest who was a very reflux-y baby) and I have continued to use wraps past the newborn stage particularly for the shorter “on the go” naps.

Would you recommend this to other parents?

Cara: I have told lots of my friends about the Amawrap already! I like the design is shorter than a normal stretchy wrap so it’s much quicker to use. It’s nice and soft for newborns and makes them feel secure. It is a useful baby product for having a baby especially if they are colicky! It’s really useful to have in your bag when out if your baby doesn’t like the pram for long periods of time!

Sophie: Yes. Great stylish designs, easy to transport and fold up into baby bag and can be used when out and about. Easy to use but website also provides a video guide on how to use and adapt e.g. for twin carry, breast feeding carry and hip carry. It did take me a while to get my head around how to use the sling but the ama wrap team also provide a live chat support and email support to help parents understand how to use the sling safely. The sling is very comfortable for mum and child to use. This sling has been safety checked to ensure it is safe for babies to suck! but is also very easy to wash and keep clean. I found this a lot more supportive and comfortable to use than other slings I have previously tried.

Jules: This product is comfortable and doesn’t just last for pregnancy, it goes through your nursing journey and beyond. I don’t like buying maternity clothing because it isn’t used for long, but this jumper doesn’t have the obvious Maternity and nursing look about it. The flaps on the side are stylish and the zip for nursing is very well hidden and discreet. You don’t have to be pregnant or feeding to wear this. The quality of the material will ensure you can use this jumper for years after your pregnancy. The design is lovely too, eye catching and different while stylish and pretty at the same time. It’s very comfortable, whatever you use it for.

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Catia: I think this product should be considered to win best wrap because it is great, it folds really well, you can easily take it with you in your changing bag. Fabric is very soft, there’s many colours to choose from, it’s very long in length so anyone can use it, even men. It’s a light fabric so it’s great for summer.

Charlotte: For the price and time it takes to put on and adjust I would prefer to use a newborn sling with more structure and safety features. Other competitors offer a sling which is ready to use straight away once put on without worrying if they're in it correctly. Although with this style of wrap it is lovely to feel baby so close to you as if they are part of you, I just felt worried about the support it was giving.

Rob: No I would not have chosen this over others as it was very difficult to learn how to do it and without my wife helping I could not put it on myself. I would have chosen a better back support as I could not find a comfortable position. Overall as a product I think it is amazing and the idea is wonderful if you use it from birth, but our daughter was over one when we started to use it so I would have to say not for our family.

What changes would you make to this product?

Jules: The only thing I would change about this jumper is maybe give it more of a stretch in the material, just to give it that extra bit of comfort. Other than that, I wouldn’t change a thing. It seems well thought through and well designed. It’s a very handy product to have and I can’t fault it really! Highly recommend.

Sophie: The only restriction was I couldn't see that the child is able to forward face in the sling, which is preferred for the older child ( I found from 12 months my children would prefer to look outwards). This could restrict the use for some children and parents. In general a well made product that has been well researched and supported.

Cara: The only thing I would change is that a carry bag would be very useful! Other than that I can’t think of anything else I would change. I was really happy to try out this wrap and was able to try it on a newborn and a toddler and it was comfortable to use with both babies and I will continue to use it with my toddler!
