The Eco Pourty Potty won Silver in the Mother&Baby awards 2024 for Best Potty Training Product (excluding disposable nappies) thanks to the eco-friendly focus and smart design that makes potty training that much easier for busy parents. It's simple to clean and easy to empty - read on below to find out how our parent tester got on when using the Eco Pourty Potty with their little one.

Testing the Eco Pourty Potty

I would definitely recommend the Eco Pourty Potty to fellow parents. Its compact design makes it perfect for travel, and it's incredibly easy to use, empty, and clean. I also really appreciate the company's eco-conscious ethos and the reduced environmental impact of the product, something I hadn’t given much thought to before using this potty. It even got me thinking about what happens to potties at the end of their life cycle, which is a perspective I hadn't considered before.

This potty feels very durable. It's heavier than others we've tried, which turned out to be a big advantage. It stays stable on tiled bathroom floors and doesn't shift around when my little one stands up. The rear pouring channel eliminates the suction seal issue we’ve experienced with other potties, where they’d lift off the floor when being used.

The easy-pour spout is a game-changer and significantly reduces mess when emptying. We’ve had other potties that caused splashback or had fiddly removable bowls, but the Eco Pourty’s one-piece design and integrated handle make it practical and comfortable to carry to the toilet.

It also feels like it’s been thoughtfully designed with larger toddlers in mind. We had a previous potty that felt flimsy and cracked shortly after we bought it. In contrast, this one feels sturdy and well-built. While the colour isn’t the most appealing, I understand that’s likely due to the use of recycled materials, which I actually value more.

The potty is light enough to carry easily, so it’s great for on-the-go use, whether we’re in the car or away from home. In terms of value, it’s a little more expensive than the cheaper models we’ve used, but the quality and size make it worth the price.

Another feature I loved is the wide, comfortable rim. My daughter enjoys sitting on it—even while watching TV—and it doesn’t leave deep red marks on her legs like some other potties have. It’s also impressively tough, surviving a couple of accidental drops without any damage. The handle is well-sized, making it easy for her to carry and place wherever she wants to use it.

Final thoughts

The Eco Pourty Potty is a genuinely sustainable product, made from recycled food packaging and fully recyclable at the end of its life. While the colour options are limited because of this, the environmental benefits far outweigh the aesthetic.

With its non-drip pouring design, high splash guard, and wide, comfy seat, this potty combines practicality with eco-friendliness. Its compact size makes it perfect for travel and easy to store at home. It’s a smart, thoughtful choice for parents who want a reliable potty that’s also kinder to the planet.
