How did this product make your life easier?

Rebecca: The Ickle Bubba Rainbow dreams 10 piece nursery starter set is a beautiful collection of things for a new baby. It does exactly what it says and helps get your nursery prepared for the arrival of your new baby-conveniently all in one bundle. It is a product that grows with your baby with the different elements of the set all being useful at different stages of your new baby’s life. Having this set early on in your journey into parenthood is handy as you can gradually introduce elements into your everyday use as your little one grows.

Gabriella: We didn’t know the gender of our baby so decorated the nursery in plain gender neutral colours that we could style up with most colours. I had screen shot and saved lots of pictures of different items that I thought would look lovely in a nursery but it is always a little tricky (especially when shops were closed at the time when we were planning the nursery) to picture everything together and whether it will work. I love a nursery to actually look like a nursery for a baby but also something that can grow with my baby over time. Being able to purchase and use a whole nursery set is so much easier as all the design and care work has been done for you, you just have the simple task of unboxing and getting creative with it.

Aimee: This nursery starter set is just beautiful. From the moment I took it out of the box, I was so impressed with how soft everything was. It is such good quality. The rainbow design is very on trend at the moment. The sheets and bedding are super soft and snuggly and my baby has actually slept in her own room all night since I put it on her cot! The bedding and sleeping bags wash well too and still retain their softness.Everything is so bright and cheery and really completes the nursery.

Would you recommend this to other parents?

Amy: Lovely colourful unisex design. This pack had all the essentials to equip our nursery. The fabric was nice and soft but also good quality thickness for the sheets/bedding which has so far washed well despite the various stains of a baby. We thought it was good value for the amount of products contained and would make a lovely gift for someone expecting.

Emma: It would be a lovely gift for a new mum who needs everything. It would also be lovely for a family who have suffered loss due to the rainbow theme. As a family who have a rainbow baby I feel liked the idea of the design. The products are a nice quality and easy to use. I haven't done multiple washes yet so unable to say how well they last.

Rebecca: I think this would be a great starter set for a first time parent, albeit an expensive way of approaching buying these essential items. The designs of the items following a rainbow theme is lovely and would make any nursery look extra special but I question its value for money when one of the 10 items is a short string of bunting. The quality of manufacture for each of the items is high and they wash well. The sleeping bags both include poppers on the shoulders and a double zip making access to sleepy toes easier for midnight nappy changes. I particularly like that the changing mat has a measure along the one side enabling you to regularly check how long your baby is, along with it being a fabric cover. This seems much more comfortable for my baby to lie on straight from the bath rather than the standard plastic that so many changing mats are made from. The fabric slips off like a pillow case so should a mishap occur-lets face it accidents happen!- it can be thrown in the wash and the plastic changing mat inside can still be used. I also like that the set includes two sizes of sleeping bag, as we all know how baby can surprise you and all of a suddenly outgrow EVERYTHING that fitted yesterday.

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Gabriella: I have seen plenty of other sets for sale but they are typically only cot bed sets and then sometimes you find extra matching items for them but usually the picture you see advertised , you won’t find the items for sale that want as they are props only. Where as the rainbow dreams set has it all for you in one set. The grobags are so soft and have washed incredibly well and maintained their cotton soft texture. I really love the fitted sheets design and also how light and soft they feel even after washing, it’s like they are brand new still. The cot bed duvet is the advised tog rating and although we aren’t at a stage to use it yet, it feels well made, soft, and fits perfectly for our standard cot bed.

Aimee: I love how the whole nursery set matches. It saves new mums shopping around for coordinating products. Everything is here and in one place; sheets, quilt, cot mobile, blanket, sleeping bags, bunting, sleep aid and changing mat. It’s lovely and bright and excellent quality. It’s also gender neutral and suitable for baby boys and girls. It’s not too babyish either so will last well into school age. The striped bunting and bedding really brightens the room. Everything comes in a lovely box too. It would make a lovely gift for an expectant parent.

Laura: The most used product has to be the rainbow cot mobile. We have this above our changing table so every time we change our baby’s nappy we turn it on and he is mesmerised. When I’m getting ready, I’ll then move it so it is above his bouncer and he will happily sit there and watch the rainbow spin. If we’re going out for the day, or when the grandparents have baby, I make sure to always pack the rainbow now! The changing mat is great as it has the measuring chart so we can measure the height of our baby ourselves. I did change a very dirty nappy on the mat not so long ago and managed to get poo all over the mat. However, it was so easy to remove the cover and wash the poo out. The mat itself under the cover is also fine to use on its own and wipe anyway.

What changes would you make to this product?

Rebecca: To improve this product I would lengthen the time in which the white noise and music play for. I find that rather than it being a sleep aid it almost hinders sleep as it’s so jarringly short. I find that it leaves both my toddler and baby- I tried it with both!- looking around to see why it stopped playing.

Gabriella: As the set includes a cot bed duvet it might be a nice touch to also include a pillow and case as the rainbow set grows with your child this would be handy further down the line. I don’t know whether it would affect the cotton soft touch of the fitted sheets but with a reflux baby we have stocked up on waterproof fitted sheets to try and protect the mattress as much as we can. However we have bought a waterproof protector to use under the sheets too.

Emma: Maybe to make the sleeping bags multiple tog e.g. a 1.5 that zips into another one for cooler nights. I think I would maybe have a plainer fitted sheet design. It does feel abit too much rainbow however it is a lovely print. We haven't use the quilt yet as my baby is too young but it's nice to have the full set as it feels like it grows with your baby from new born to toddler.
