We spoke to these real parent testers to get their review...

How did this product make your life easier?

Gabriella: The sleeping bag doesn't make my life easier as such but it gives me peace of mind knowing my son is nice and warm during colder nights in a sleeping bag rather than him waking up to be snuggled back in under a duvet. I also have this irrational fear of him smothering himself under a duvet and will use sleeping bags for as long as I can with him. Sleeping bags just take away all night time anxiety for me.

Besey Zumra: I love the way these sleeping bags are constructed: they fit really well at the top with generous wriggle room in the lower part and the side opening is ingenious. It's impossible for a toddler to undo and there's nothing at the front for a baby to suck or chew on. Soft and comfortable fabric which has washed up beautifully each time and the gender neutral patterns are a bonus.

Erin: This sleep bag is lovely. Design is for either a girl or a boy. Lovely and soft and fits well. Plenty of space for little legs and comfort and not too restrictive. It is warm enough to just have a t-shirt and pull up/nappy on underneath and keeps my little one feeling cosy all night long. It makes life easier as I don’t have to worry about my little one getting cold in the night and I know she is comfortable in this.

Would you recommend this to other parents?

Amy: Lovely design, good quality feeling sleeping bag. I liked that the pattern was unisex for if you had more than one child. The neck sizing was consistent with the age of the child it was aimed for so we didn’t worry about moving about like others we’ve used. It fitted nicely around her neck. It was a little heavy for the time of year/hot weather we were in so only used a handful of times but it will be nice and snug for the cooler autumn/winter weather.

Ashleigh: I would recommend this product to a fellow mum because it is convenient to use during the night with changes etc. And also because it is pure cotton meaning it is more breathable for baby whilst also making sure they stay warm/cool for the appropriate room temperatures. We have always used sleeping bags so would always recommend them.

Lisa: I would recommend it to the other mum's who are in the groups I am in for my baby's foot condition. Narrow sleeping bags are a big issue in these groups and when wearing a foot brace sleeping bags are a must to prevent cots being kicked and broken. I would however have an issue recommending the product given the exceptionally high price, it is frustrating as the only other company who does a wider bag are Tommee Tippee who are also astronomically priced.

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Erin: This product would definitely be a contender for me as it is nice quality and material and the fit is better than some others on the market. The fit I am sure is not going to be perfect for every toddler, but for the price and quality this is a good contender. The main other product I would use would be grobags which are also good quality and fit but are also more expensive. It would be good to see this bag available in different togs such as 1 tog and 0.5 for the warmer summer months.

Amy: Compared to others on the market it is priced at the higher end. It definitely feels better quality and although we have only used a few times at present I suspect it will wash and wear better than some of its cheaper competitors. I also liked the design as did my daughter who was happy to look and touch all the patterns.

Gabriella: The John Lewis sleeping bag has washed extremely well vs other brand sleeping bags we have used that become bobbly or the material within the sleeping becomes uneven, the John Lewis sleeping bag still looks like I bought it yesterday despite the fact it has been slept in every night (other than the week of hot weather we had) and washed numerous times. My son has a lot of room to still wriggle and roll in the sleeping bag but not too much that he is getting tangled up in it.

What changes would you make to this product?

Ashleigh: There is nothing that I would change about the product other than the price tag. If it was affordable it would be our choice over others because of the pure cotton element of the product. If it is within someone’s price range I would definitely recommend it to them because of the design and the breathability.

Lisa: I would definitely reduce the price, I would've liked more information on the packaging about other sizes and togs available. I also think it would be prudent to include a guide on the packaging regarding what togs to use in what weather and with what pyjamas as I was sent a 2.5 tog to test in June with no guidance on what temperature this was suitable for.
