HUGGIES Pull-Ups

At a glance:

Helping to give your tot independence, these HUGGIES pull-up pants are a great potty-training aid to help your tot learn how to use their potty. We love the wetness indicator in the form of a Disney character, encouraging your child to stay dry for longer – genius!

What they say:

“Huggies Pull-Up Potty Training Pants, unlike nappies, are specifically designed to help make potty training easier. They are just like real underwear, but with extra absorbency for overnight protection and fun Disney designs that toddlers love to wear. Re-sealable, easy open sides make them easier to remove in case of accidents (even with clothes on!) and there is a wetness indicator too.”

Tested by mum Gabriella Challis for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes, I would recommend Huggies Pull-ups. The designs really appeal to children, the fit seems comfortable and they haven’t left any marks on my little one’s skin. The wetness indicator is a fantastic visual for children, as they understand that they have had an accident. My little Pip is only three-years-old and manages to put these on herself at night with ease, calling them her night pants. These were also great value for money!

How did this product make your life easier?

Our little girl is totally dry during the day but we haven't quite mastered night time yet. The wetness indicator has been great in the mornings as she’s been able to see that her pants are wet and therefore know she’s had an accident overnight. This means that her motivation is to try and have dry pull-ups in the morning because Minnie Mouse will fade if the pants are wet, so she tries to keep them dry to keep Minnie mouse alive!

Would you choose this product to win?

Absolutely, I think this product should win for the reasons aforementioned. What made it stand out is the fact that my little girl felt grown-up putting the pull-ups on herself, and this made bedtime so much easier. These feel a lot lighter than other pull-ups and look fun, so I suppose that's why she has enjoyed them. She also said that they weren't itchy - which was because of the stretchy sides, so that is another bonus.

What changes would you make to this product?

Nothing at all! Loved it.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

These Huggies Pull ups are a life (and carpet) saver when it comes to potty training. They are so simple to use, even the child can help put them on and off themselves to sit on the potty. They're designed really well, my little one once had to wear one for a three-hour car journey, yet she wasn't uncomfortable and there were no leaks.

How did this product make your life easier?

Potty training is made so much easier with pull ups. Accidents are contained but the child temporarily feels wet so that they know they've had an accident - this helps them to learn. Also having a character on the front helped because I could tell my daughter that she needed to keep Minnie Mouse or Cinderella dry!

Would you choose this product to win?

Definitely. We tried a couple of cheaper brands of potty training pants but they all seemed to irritate my little one and make her feel uncomfortable if she had an accident. The quick absorption in Huggies products really makes a difference. Also, the fact that you can undo the sides really helps when there's been a big accident.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would just make more character designs available and also make them less obviously gendered (i.e. pink princesses for girls and red super heroes for boys). My daughter loves super heroes and cars just as much as she loves princesses and Minnie Mouse!

Tested by mum Holly Hudson for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

The product is easy to use and my little girl liked the designs – she was happy and comfortable to wear them all day and they did prevent accident! She was able to pull them up and down easily herself and the sizing is also pretty good.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product helps give you confidence that there will be no accidents during the transition between nappies and pants. It gives your child the brief wet feeling, so they can learn about bladder control and pull them up and down just like real underwear.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes. There doesn't seem to be many other products that work as well on the market. I'm not keen on the very blue and pink branding and Disney characters, but I know this is popular with the children.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would prefer if the product branding was not so clearly pink or blue, it’s only reinforcing gender stereotypes! I also think that they are quite expensive.

Tested by mum Hailey Keen for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend Huggies to other mums and have already told my sister and sister in law about them. They are light and easy to take with you and my daughter found them easy enough to pull on herself and the design is simple but effective.

How did this product make your life easier?

I started potty training my little girl when she turned two-years-old. I was nine months pregnant at the time and wanted to make sure she was trained by the time my little boy was born. Having the Huggies Pull ups meant that we could teach her how to take off and pull up the pants on her own, in preparation for 'big girl' pants!

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose Huggies pull-ups as they absorbed all the liquid through the night and didn't wake my daughter. They were perfect for both day and night use. My daughter loved the cartoon characters on them which was a bonus as she was happy to wear them!

What changes would you make to this product?

I would not change anything about this product. My daughter was fully trained in the day and night in two weeks, they did everything they were meant to and made my life so much easier!

Tested by mum Paula Hudson for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend these pull ups to fellow mums because they are a great product for using in the home and on the go. They fold down small, so are easy to carry with you, and the character designs are great for the kids as they are excited to put them on! They feel soft and comfortable for my little boy!

How did this product make your life easier?

These make my life easier as a mum because they are quick and easy to put on an active child. They are compact and easy to carry around and hold in the liquid very well. Super product!

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, I think this should win, as it is a great product for potty training. The best bit about it is the character designs as they really excite the children!

What changes would you make to this product?

I would potentially make the pull ups more absorbent because my child has bladder problems and is therefore secreting more liquid than normal.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend Huggies Pull Ups. They are fantastic quality with lovely designs on them including Minnie Mouse and Princesses which makes them look more grown up and appealing to toddlers. I found them super absorbent and the stretchy sides were perfect for my toddler learning to pull them up and down easily. They were a great fit and comfortable. One of the features I really loved was the fact the pants had sticky sides so that it was easy for you to have a look inside, or if you needed to lie your child down to change them the side tabs made it easier to change.

I have used other brands of potty training toddler pants and found them nowhere near as good and well designed as Huggies. They have thought of everything you need and want in potty training pants. Another fab feature was the wetness indicator so you could see if your child has had a little accident. They are excellent value for money and help make the tansition from nappy to pants fun, appealing and easy.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product makes my life easier as we have a reliable product that helps to ease my toddler into potty training and is great for my child to practise using pull up pants before trying the real thing. During the potty training process it's helpful to have a product that still offers protection but is similar to normal underwear. This product makes the potty training process much easier and simpler for both me and my child. My daughter is also happy to wear them and I feel they are less bulky than a regular nappy keeping my little girl comfortable and free to move around.

Would you choose this product to win?

This product is fantastic quality and great value for money. I am really amazed at how well this product works and how effective they are.

What changes would you make to this product?

There is honestly nothing I would change about this product.

Tested by mum Cheyenne Devine for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This product has fun designs and are appealing to young children. They are easy to pull up and with the velcro side strips they can be adjusted once on. The wetness indicator on the front lets you know if there have been any 'leaks' during the night. A great product that I would recommend to all fellow parents undertaking potty training.

How did this product make your life easier?

The great designs help in children wanting to wear them, which sometimes my son does not want to do in plain nappies. The ease of pulling the nappy up and down help with confidence in potty training, and save valuable time in preventing accidents. The fit is very good so we had no need to adjust the velcro strips making these nappies very easy to wear and use.

Would you choose this product to win?

The wonderful Disney design and characters on the nappies make them appealing and my son was very happy to use them. He found the nappy easy to pull on and take off when he needed to use the potty.

What changes would you make to this product?

This product did cause some irritation and chafing to my son's back at the top of the nappy. This is where the nappy is moveable and adapts to the wearer. I feel this could be improved by using a softer material or using some form of barrier such as aloe vera strips. The sizes house a large varity of weights so maybe instead of making fewer size ranges to accomodate the company could produce a wider range of sizes more fitting with a smaller weight range.

Tested by mum Heather Bell for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend Huggies Pull Ups to other mums and friends. The quality is really good, and they feel very soft! I love the colourful designs on them and my little girl loves it too. With the sides being resealable as well that's a great feature.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product makes my life easier as a mum because I can easily slip on the pull up pants rather than wrestle with a wriggly toddler! It helps my child feel more independent as well. I can change her so much quicker and check for any accidents with the wet indicator, that's the best feature I would say.

Would you choose this product to win?

Even considering the quality and colourful designs, the cost/value for money compared to other supermarket brands is quite high. I would rather buy a cheaper brand for the same quality.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would change the pack size and price of this product. It is higher than supermarket brands and therefore is a luxury brand, to me. Also, I would like for the characters not to be Disney, and maybe other character/animals, as I think this adds to the price and not everyone likes Disney! Other than that, the product does what it says!

Tested by mum Philippa Homan for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I really loved the design of the product. My son always tries to run away when I go to put a nappy on him but these pull ups distract him due to the pictures on the front. I love the ease of putting them on but my son finds them equally as easy to take off himself when he tells me he needs to use the potty. As young as he is, he feels he is more grown up and more in control.

How did this product make your life easier?

The product makes my life easier as a Mum as I no longer have a battle of wills to get my son to put them on. He loves the bright design and feels more like a big boy. I can put them on him whilst he is standing up too which is a bonus. They can be quickly put on and taken off when time is very much of the essence with a son only just starting potty training.

Would you choose this product to win?

I love the design of this product but I have found absorbency to be better with a competitor's version. These products are definitely more child friendly which means that they are more successful in engaging the child to become more capable to potty train.

What changes would you make to this product?

If absorbency could be improved for night time it would be a 10 out of 10. .

Tested by mum Sabrina Devlin for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This product is easy to use and is very well packaged. It is great for helping your toddler to learn to potty train as it shows you on the nappy when your little one has had an accident and this is great for teaching them when they have had a little accident. Huggies Pull Ups for boys had a Lightening McQueen design, which was perfect for my little one as he loves cars.

How did this product make your life easier?

The pull ups are straight forward and easy to use and when it comes to removing them its really easy by pulling the tabs on easy side that are easy to tear. They don't seem to leak and are great at holding what they need to and at the front of the nappy it can tell you if you little one has went which as mum is great to see with out having to asked your child over and over if they have had a little accident.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change anything about the product it would be perhaps that they were made in more different designs for kids rather than just cars for boys and princesses for girls. Perhaps having other characters that toddlers love.

Tested by mum Jenna Coleman for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

Huggies Pull-ups are fantastic when your toddler first starts potty training. They come in super handy when you have to nip out to do the school run or to the shops as, they absorb any accidents while out & about & not near a toilet etc. Yes, I would definitely recommend to parents.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

They are quick & easy to put on & remove. My toddler loves the characters printed on them... Bonus! They are super handy when needing to do the school run or nip to shops etc. Especially a 'Must have' in those first weeks of potty training where little accidents are likely to occur. They will give you & your toddler that extra piece of mind while their confidence grows during potty training.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

These pull-ups are a little expensive & you don't get much in a pack. Would love to see a few more pull-ups in the pack for that price.

Tested by mum Louise Gill for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

I would recommend these simply because of the design. My daughter loves Disney, so is keen to wear them.  Easy to use and absorbant.  When wet these pull ups seem to be noisier than other pull ups, I found this put my daughter off.

Tested by Chris Brotherton for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow parent?

Excellent fit, nice and snug, so no leaks. Easy for me and my daughter to get up and down, which is very important for independence. Lovely fun design makes them look like real pants. They feel nice and soft on and they are very comfortable for my little one.

How does this product make your life easier as a parent?

I like that I can offer my child some independence and let her be sorting her training pants out and she manages so well as they are very easy.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

I wouldn’t really think you could improve much.
