How did this product make your life easier?
Sarah: The Bamaboo nappies are beautifully soft compared to other biodegradable nappies that I have tried. I really wasn’t expecting them to be so nice but they are made from bamboo and so are also naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial. I also noticed that because they were made from natural fibres, they were also more breathable and so better for my baby’s skin. We had an improvement in her nappy rash whilst wearing them. Disposing of them is easy too and I was gutted when they ran out.
Clare: The nappy is a really lovely product. It has a quality feel about it, with a sophisticated design, and beautifully soft material. We had no leaks and no nappy rash. I liked using them for my baby because the nappy material feels soft and natural, rather than some of the plastic-y disposables on the market. I love the fact it is environmentally friendly, yet it doesn’t require the efforts of washing needed to use cloth nappies.
Alice: I definitely felt much more relaxed using these nappies rather than the usual disposals- knowing I wasn’t adding to the dangerous amounts of them in the landfill. They made my life easier because they never once leaked or failed us meaning I didn’t spend my day worrying when I took her out!
Would you recommend this to other mums?
Laura: I would definitely recommend these nappies to a fellow mum. The design is sweet with the little panda on the front, and they fit really well. They are made from a soft material which has been comfortable for my daughter to wear, and they have been easy to use. Throughout the time I have been using them, there has only been one leak which is good and compares to other brands I have used.
Tanya Jane: For the looks and the comfort yes, we would absolutely recommend these nappies. For the environmental aspect, we would do the same. The 3 main issues for us which would deter us from recommending them are that they didn't do their job overnight as urine soaked through on 2 consecutive nights. Also, the price is extremely high in comparison to our usual German supermarket chain. We are all for doing our bit for the environment and more, however, we have to be realistic and accept that we have a budget to stick to and these would blow it out if the water if we bought them in the quantities required. The final issue is localised to us and not one we had considered prior to the product arriving. Our council no longer sends waste to landfill, rather it goes to an incinerator meaning that regardless of their environmental credentials they will still end up being burnt rather than being allowed to biodegrade.
Katherine: I would recommend this nappy to people who really want eco-friendly nappies and where the money isn’t too much of an issue. The design of the nappies is pretty standard, although they do feel like real quality and is nice to the touch. The nappy has a yellow line that changes to blue when it is wet, which although many other nappies have this feature they tend to stop having this past stage three whereas these have to at least stage four.
Would you choose this product to win?
Louise: As a mum who uses reusable nappies, I wouldn’t usually choose a disposable but I would choose this product over other disposables due to it being biodegradable, this is a huge attraction to our family. I like the fact that the product is eco-friendly and the fact that they are so soft, comfortable and brilliant quality. No other disposable nappy I have come across has been this well made and carry’s a minimal smell after use.
Kirsty: I do really like the product and think it feels great and kinder to the skin. They stay on well and last well overnight with no leaks. They are a good fit. I also like the fact that they are kinder to the environment. The cost, however, would be prohibitive to me using these exclusively. I would consider buying a pack to use for overnights.
Elly: If money was no issue, these would be my first choice. I love how they were so much more flexible and kind to baby’s bum. Unfortunately being a single mum they are way out of my price range. When I finished the sample, I did go online to look at purchasing more, but I just couldn’t afford them. I think this nappy should win as they were amazing, and I had no issues with baby’s bum the whole time I used them, along with no leaks.
What changes would you make to this product?
Clare: I would make the product cheaper. If its cost was more in line with other disposables I would consider buying them day to day. Unfortunately like me, I think a lot of families will find the cost prohibitive, which is a shame because it is a great product and better for the environment than usual disposables.
Sarah: If the nappy price could be reduced a little then I would seriously consider switching to it. Perhaps a means to do this might be through bulk buying or a subscription type service. It would be great if environmentally friendly options were more affordable to all as I think many Mums want to care about the environment but find it too expensive.
Katherine: Although, I think these are a great idea and feel we should all be trying to be more eco-friendly, the price really needs to be closer to the standard nappy prices as they are almost double the price of some of the more expensive brands such as Pampers etc and supermarkets branded nappies can even be found for less than ⅓ of the price. This really prices them out of the market of lower-earning people and many people after having children struggle financially.
