Sainsbury's Little Ones Meal Pouches (7+ Months)Sainsbury's

There are so many yummy flavours in the Sainsbury's Little Ones Meal Pouches range, and one of our favourites is this Organic Vegetable & Beef Casserole variety. With a mix of textures to assist in your baby's development, this puree with sweet potato, carrot, beef and cooked polenta is designed for chewing and even counts as one of their 5-a-day. Amazing!

Pros

  • A great source of fibre
  • Tastes fantastic, and it's healthy too!
  • So many yummy flavours to choose from

Cons

  • Not every flavour will appeal to all palettes
  • You can't reheat it twice, so if baby doesn't eat the full pouch, some can be wasted

The Sainsbury's Little Ones Meal Pouches (7+ Months) won Gold for Best Baby Food Range/Product in the Mother&Baby Awards 2025. The sheer breadth of flavours on offer is amazing, and the packaging pouch is designed specifically to be convenient for busy parents on the go. There's quite a lot in each pouch, making them easy to use for multiple meals if needed! Read on below to check out what our Mother & Baby testers thought about these meal pouches!

Testing Sainsbury's Little Ones Meal Pouches

Our parent testers loved the natural, organic ingredients used in these pouches. One mum told us, "I like that vegetables are included... it's helpful knowing he's getting a nutritious meal with no added nasties," while another revealed that "the packaging describes what each meal is on the front and has details of ingredients on the back, with allergens clearly displayed on the packaging. We have been cautious with salts and sugars in the ready-made meals for our little one, but have found the Sainsbury's meals are mostly low in both fronts."

But healthy ingredients aren't any good if the kids won't eat it, so how do the flavours stack up? Luckily, you've got nothing to worry about. "My little girl loved the meal pouches!" said an enthusiastic mum, telling us that "Caribbean chicken stew was a real favourite and would have taken me hours to prepare myself". Another parent told us that they "found the pouches really easy and convenient to use as they offer a wide range of flavours. My child is ten months old, he really enjoyed the meal pouches and was able to explore different textures and flavour combinations."

"The pouches were easy to store and very convenient for us as a family, especially when we were out for the day. It was great having confidence in knowing that we were feeding our child something healthy," said a pleased parent that wanted to highlight the ease of use. Another revealed that "they are quite compact, so they're very easy to just throw into the changing bag to take out," going on to tell us that "overall, I am very impressed and will be purchasing these in future, especially for the price."

Speaking of price, the wallet-friendly price point doesn't mean that Sainsbury's is compromising on ingredients or variety. "Some of the pouches had mild spices in them and more texture than other pouches we have tried," said a parent who had already tried competing pouches. She was thrilled with the Little Ones Meal Pouches, stating, "I love that they focused more on vegetables. The pouches available had a variety of exploratory flavours and were all organic."

"My boy has an allergy to dairy and near enough every single pouch he was able to eat! This was just amazing as it gave him such variety," said one mother that really appreciated the range of dietary requirements the pouches catered for. It's not just dairy allergies that are covered, though - another mum told us that "there was a great range of flavours and the availability of vegetarian options was a bonus. The clear labelling (i.e. 1 of your 5 a day) was really useful, especially if looking to grab nutritional food quickly."

Final verdict

Overall, these meal pouches are a brilliant choice for a quick meal on the go or even as a regular dinner at home - with one mum commenting that "all the meals smelt lovely when warming", you might even be convinced that baby could be eating better than you on some nights! The pouches really impressed our testers, and come highly recommended for you and your family, whatever your dietary needs may be.
