At a glance:

The award-winning Lansinoh Disposable Nursing Pads now feature a Blue Lock core to ensure that moisture stays locked in, and are more absorbent than ever. They are capable of holding up to 20x their own weight, whilst still retaining their shape. The soft, stay-dry lining draws milk away from the skin and into the core of the pad where it is absorbed by a special polymer to prevent leakage. This along with the two non-slip adhesive tapes keep the pad in place, and the contour creates a natural fit that won’t leak or show under clothing. Ensuring mum feels dryer, quicker and for longer. Each pad comes individually wrapped for convenience and hygiene – perfect to slip into a handbag or nappy bag.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Francesca: I already have recommended this to anyone who is breastfeeding. It really is the best pad I have found. In the early days of breastfeeding, I found I was leaking quite a lot and this really helped. They are small enough to stash in any changing bag and are super convenient.

Sarah: I would recommend them as they are a reputable brand. They are comfortable. They keep clothing free from leakage. They aren’t particularly expensive and they last for a full day without much rolling or creasing, unlike some other pads. They wouldn’t necessarily be my top choice as other cheaper brands are just as good quality.

Stacey: I would fully recommend these as they are so simple to use and carry with you. They stay firmly in place with their sticky back. This is essential to avoid and leaking or wet clothes. These pads are so much more absorbent compared to other pads on the market. They are also not too slimline which is great.

How did this product make your life easier?

Roshni: These stop me leaking everywhere! They are so much better than own brands which are itchy! They are really absorbent and I don’t need to change them in the day. They stay in place with the sticky tabs and have good coverage as they are quite big (although sometimes a bit too big with certain bras). They have a slimmer design so they don’t feel as bulky as own brand ones.

Jenny: The product was really easy to use. I found that the pad bunched and dislodged when I pulled my bra down to feed. The sticky back sometimes attached to my breast which was uncomfortable to pull off. The pads are individually wrapped so they can be hygienically transported without getting dirty. The product was very useful at preventing milk leaks. The pads are quite flat and don’t show through your shirt. They were comfortable enough to use at night with softer bras.

Jessica: These pads have two sticky bits to secure it to your bra or top. This is great because the pads don't move around as much as ones that only have one sticky bit. They don't bunch up and you couldn't see them through tops. With other pads, I have avoided wearing certain clothes but not with these ones. I can't comment on absorption as my breasts don't leak much, but equally, I never had an issue with the pads becoming soaked.

Would you choose this product to win?

Taransay: I would definitely choose this product over reusable pads as there is never any leakage from them. I love that they’re individually wrapped and so if one pad does go missing or needs to be changed it’s easy to replace without wastage or ending up with a spare breast pad. They are sticky on the back to ensure they stay where they’re supposed to.

Abi: When possible I would choose this product. However, due to its price, it is not something I could regularly afford. They are a lot more comfortable and would last longer than cheaper alternatives. They fit very well and the adhesive on both sides held them in place well. They also helped protect my nipples from becoming chapped and sore.

Rosie: It was a good product. Having each pad individually wrapped was a bit of a faff when putting them in at home and the excess plastic used is unnecessary. The ones that aren’t wrapped are a bit easier to use when you have a screaming baby waiting for you. The actual pad function and comfort is better than other brands. There is not absorbable material in this pad, more of a crystal material instead of padding. This material is good for stopping leaks but again probably not as environmentally friendly.

What changes would you make to this product?

Ruby: The size of the individual pad itself. I think it is important to ensure they are suitable for all cup sizes. It is daunting enough as a new mum when breastfeeding as your body changes during pregnancy and post. The pads are exceptionally large and that was slightly off-putting.

Francesca: My only complaint with this product is that there is an awful lot of packaging. As soon as my breasts stopped leaking I wanted to switch to reusable pads as these are quite pricey. I worry about the amount of waste they generate and therefore their environmental impact. I understand they must need to be individually wrapped for hygiene and to keep them sterile but if the manufacturers could find a way to make them more eco-friendly and to reduce the price this would be a perfect product.

Sarah: I would change the way they adhere to clothing. Like all breast pads, they do not seem to stay in place following each feed. I constantly had to reapply them following a feed in order to ensure they stayed over the nipple to prevent any leaking. They wouldn’t move during wearing but would fall off when the bra was released in order to feed.
