Testing the Silver Cross Slumber Travel Cot

If you’re someone who loves to travel but also wants to keep things as easy and low-maintenance as possible, the Slumber 3-in-1 Travel Cot is the perfect choice. I was sat with my husband to put this up, just in case it was difficult, and the words “that might be the easiest thing ever” quickly came out of his mouth. It was instant, perhaps an under 30 second job, which is so convenient if you’re going away anywhere.

I’m a first time mum to be, so I haven’t tried and tested the waters for all sorts of things yet, but of all of the items I’ve picked up so far, this is genuinely the easiest thing I’ve been able to get ahold of.

With a newborn insert and a place for a flat mattress at the bottom, this will easily last my little one through their toddler years, I’d say until I’m comfortable with them being in a proper bed! For the newborn insert, there’s about as much space as there would be in a next-to-me cot. While the toddler aspect of the travel cot has quite a chunk more, making it the perfect spot to also act as a baby playpen.

It’s so lightweight, which also goes back to its ease of putting up. There are no heavy parts to get it set up, nor is carrying it around in its travel bag an issue. We’ve got a lot of weddings next summer with our little one, so this is going to come in handy! With mesh panels across all sides, there’s not a doubt in my mind that it’s breathable and provides good airflow, which makes me feel even better about the safety.

What’s more? There are no heavy bits for a toddler to trap their fingers, and unless they’re a very tall toddler, they wouldn’t be climbing out of the pen anytime soon – it's definitely taller than a cot or cot bed, so if your little one is safe in there, they’re safe in here!

At £195, I don’t think it’s a bad price at all. We’ll be able to use it for many years, it’s the perfect little playpen which, with dogs around, might be beneficial even at home sometimes too! But the convenience of being able to take it to friends’ houses, my parents’ house, it’s perfect.

The sides can be zipped to access the playpen and it’s so easy to open up. The material is all wipeable so it’s possibly one of the easiest cot items to clean I’ve come across so far, which again is great.

I have no concerns in regards to comfort, it’s soft, sturdy and easy to use, for a few nights away, this is coming everywhere!

Honestly, for a travel cot I don’t think I could ask for a better product, when you’re away from home with a little one it can be incredibly challenging, so the easier life can be, the better. And this will certainly make my life easier!
