But it’s not just about looks. This cot bed grows with your child, converting easily into a toddler bed and featuring a three-position adjustable mattress base for added safety and convenience. Plus, the handy under-bed storage drawer is a real bonus for keeping essentials close and clutter to a minimum.

Testing the Ickle Bubba Snowdon classic cot

A sleigh-bed-style cot, the Ickle Bubba Snowdon Classic Cot is designed to grow with your baby into their toddler years. It’s a light style that doesn’t take up much space in a nursery while also feeling very traditional.

As a first-time parent, I’ll be testing how practical the under-bed storage is, how easy the cot is to build, and what it looks like in my son's nursery.

Build

The cot was really easy to build, and the instructions were very simple. I also found the drawers easy to build, and they glide nicely under the cot itself. The only issue I encountered in the build was a few damaged screws for the cot, but I was able to replace these really easily.

As the cot is designed to grow as your baby gets older, it has different height settings which were easy to adjust and also still felt very secure.

I really liked the style of the cot. It feels very classic, which is something I really like, with the sleigh-style ends. It also made it feel very practical.

The cot itself is a good size, but something I really liked is that it didn’t feel bulky in the nursery.

Usability

The cot looks great in our nursery. I am worried the white cot will mark over time, but it has been really easy to keep clean so far. It is a lightweight cot, but two people would definitely need to move it so that it doesn’t risk breaking the bottom.

One thing I would have liked is for the drawer to attach more securely, as it is just on wheels. It’s easy enough to slide in and out, but you can only pull it open from one side. You have to pull both sides forward at the same time so that it doesn’t catch on the edge of the bottom of the cot. This isn’t a major issue, though, as we only use it for extra bits, so we don’t need to open it all the time.

Performance

The cot itself was very easy to adjust and it did everything you would expect a cot to do. In terms oof durability, time will tell in the long run how well it lasts, but we feel confident that the cot is very sturdy and stable.

I think it lives up to its purpose of being a longer-lasting cot, as it can be adjusted to last, which is definitely more cost-effective.

While I did find the under-drawer storage very useful for storing extra nappies and clothes, I do think it could become a place for clutter to build up as it isn’t really big enough to store a lot of toys or bigger toys. Otherwise, it’s a great addition, especially if you only have a small room and need additional storage space.

Final verdict

The Ickle Bubba Snowdon Classic Cot Bed is a stylish, compact, and practical option for parents looking for a long-lasting cot that won’t dominate the nursery. My husband and I found this cot to be a lovely addition to our son's nursery.

It’s easy to build, simple to adjust as your baby grows, and feels sturdy once assembled. While the under-bed drawer could be more secure and spacious, it still offers handy extra storage, especially in smaller rooms. Overall, it’s a charming, functional cot bed that offers great value for money and looks lovely in any nursery setting.
