Nuna PRUU with 2025 MAB award rosette

The Nuna PRUU won Gold in the Mother&Baby Awards 2025 for Best Multi Stage Car Seat. Seven families tested the product for us ahead of the awards. Here's what they thought...

Testing the Nuna PRUU

The Nuna PRUU has proven to be a standout car seat for families seeking safety, comfort, and practicality wrapped in a premium package. From installation to everyday use, our parent testers are singing its praises and it’s easy to see why.

One of the most raved-about features is the effortless 360° spin function. With the push-to-spin button conveniently located on the side of the seat, one parent shared, “I’ve loved using this car seat — being able to do anything one handed makes life as a parent so much easier.” Another added, “The spin is extremely effortless and glides into place, again with a simple push of a button.” This rotation mechanism is not only ergonomic, especially in lower cars, but a real back-saver when juggling a baby and a toddler.

Installation is another area where the Nuna PRUU shines. It’s designed with clarity and ease in mind. “The installation of this product is fantastic - it's completely foolproof and probably one of the best and easiest and fastest installs I’ve ever used,” one tester explained, also appreciating the “green indicators [that] make you feel sure you’ve correctly installed the seat.”

When it comes to comfort, both babies and parents were impressed. One mum noted, “My 2-year-old toddler feels secure and comfortable — it has various recline positions, which is great for her as she grows.” Another highlighted how “my baby had a very settled and long nap, testament to the ergonomic design and recline options.” Even during hot weather, ventilation stood out: “With the warmer weather, I’ve found baby stayed cool when in the seat, perhaps due to the good ventilation panels.”

The adjustability of the seat makes it a truly long-term investment. With “six height-adjustable headrest positions”, it adapts easily to your child’s growth. Several parents praised the “numerous recline options,” ideal for shifting a sleeping baby into a more relaxed position.

In terms of design and materials, the Nuna PRUU doesn’t disappoint. Parents described the fabric as “plush”, “high-quality”, and “very nice - I particularly like the idea of merino wool given how breathable and natural it is against a baby’s skin.”

Aesthetics aside, its magnetic buckle holders received special attention for their practicality: “These are a great feature that I used a lot - I haven’t seen this on other car seats,” said one parent. Another added, “I loved the magnetic buckles on the seat which keeps the buckles out of the way when getting baby in - I’ve struggled with this in the past with other products.”

Even parents concerned about price came away impressed. One commented, “I personally would not pay £400 for a car seat, however, I can see how the cost is justified: high-quality fabrics, excellent functionality, and very customisable.”
