Testing the Mica Pro Eco

It's safe to say that the Mica Pro Eco was well received by a lot of our testers. "We loved this car seat," mum Elizabeth gushed. "Maxi-Cosi is a well-known brand with a great reputation and this product lived up to that expectation. It was easy to use, easy to get child in and out as the 360 spin simplifies any wrestling a baby into a car seat from a side angle!" Testers found that the car seat had a great height and weight limit which meant it could be used up until approximately age four, making it long-lasting and cost-friendly.

Our mums were satisfied that their child was safe in the Mica Pro Eco. "The straps are very easy to loosen and the clasp seems to be childproof, even, my 5-year-old couldn't undo it. I like the breathable mesh as I worry about my baby overheating in the seat and this makes it cooler," tester Holly commented.

"My favourite part of the car seat would definitely be the easy lie-back feature when your child doses off in the seat, making them really comfortable and safe," Daisy May told us. "At first I was a little confused how to get the seat forward facing, other seats I have had are 360 at the push of the button but you have to tweak this seat. However, when I worked it out, it felt much safer that it couldn’t fully spin if you had it in rear-facing mode."

Along with the 360 spin, one standout feature of the Mica Pro Eco is that it has an integrated ISOFIX base. This divided our mum's opinions, especially as it meant the car seat couldn't be attached to a pushchair. "I'm not sure I would want a seat permanently attached to the base as it's not easy to get out of the car or swap cars," Joanna said.

Final thoughts

While they felt there was too much plastic packaging with this product, our mum testers had an overall positive experience with the Mica Pro Eco. Most were pleased with how Maxi-Cosi had upped their game with this car seat and loved the 360 spin function which made their lives much easier when trying to seat wriggly tots.

"I was very impressed with this car seat and would 100 per cent recommend it to other mums. The 360 spin is a fantastic feature and the fact this car seat can be used from birth right through to age four is a great selling point especially as car seats are quite an expensive outlay. The overall build of the car seat is very sleek and looks neat in the car and the material suited my child’s eczema-prone skin," raved tester Louise.
