We all know how hard it can be to get your baby into an ill-fitting car seat - you'll never have that issue again with this amazing car seat from Joie. Designed to install in a matter of minutes, this car seat meets some of the highest safety standards on the market and will keep your baby super comfortable as you drive. The headrest offers excellent security and the base adds a rotating component, which makes putting your little one in the seat an absolute breeze.

This seat is super soft, and if you need to transfer it to another car, you can still install it safely without the base, though it does lose the rotational aspect. It's compatible with Joie pushchairs too, which is a fantastic bonus.

  • UV cover helps your baby nap comfortably in bright sun
  • So comfortable!

Cons

  • Adding the base requires an extra purchase - see below.
  • Only features a 3-point harness, not a 5-point design
Dimensions63.2 x 44.5 x 58.6 cm

Bring your Joie Sprint to the next level with this i-Base Encore, adding a smooth and seamless rotation aspect that makes settling your baby into the car so easy. The energy-absorbing load leg reduces drift and in the case of a crash, will help reduce the impact on your baby.

Pros

  • Saves so much time when moving the Sprint between cars
  • Superb one-handed swivel
  • Quick release button allows you to easily carry a sleeping little one inside

Cons

  • A sizeable extra expense in addition to the car seat itself
  • A little heavy to lift, though it only needs to be installed once

Awards

The outstanding combination of the Joie Sprint and i-Base Encore won two different awards in the Mother&Baby Awards 2025 - Silver in the Innovation of the Year category, and a Bronze award in Best Newborn Car Seat (Stage 0/0+). It's amazing how convenient the removable carrier seat is, especially if you have a compatible Joie pushchair set to move your baby into. But don't just take our word for it - our Mother & Baby testers used this set with their own little ones, and you can read what they had to say about it below.

Isofix is a key feature that many parents look for in car seats, and the inbuilt Isofix of the Joie Sprint doesn't disappoint. "This is my 3rd child and first car seat with an inbuilt Isofix. It's an absolute game changer. So easy to take in and out of the car!" reports one happy mum. Another mum praised the versatility of the design, telling us that "the seat is so innovative because of the integrated isofix within the seat itself rather than having to have a separate base. However, you are still able to use the seat with a base and it is amazing to have a spin variety which lasts for more than one seat."

This base was beloved by many of the testers, with one happy parent telling us, "This car seat and base are so much easier to use than others I've tried... It's light enough to lift and carry on my own. The seat clips into the base with no effort". "The rotating base was great to keep in the main car for easy of use with baby especially as they get bigger and heavier," reported another mum, going on to say "I am excited that the same base can be used with different Joie seats, so has a long life span".

"It is amazing to have a spin variety which lasts for more than one seat. I have never seen another seat like this and I thought it was an amazing idea," confessed one happy tester. The longevity really appealed to our mums! The actual swivel action simplifies the tough job of buckling baby in, with one mum even telling us that it "made it very easy for me to put baby into the car after my c-section". So convenient!

Parents were also impressed by the build and accessories available for the seat. One mother told us "I really liked was the sunshade which can be extended all the way down," while another revealed that "the UV cover goes all the way over baby which has been incredibly reassuring with a summer baby, but also means it's dark so he continues to nap when the seat is on the pushchair". We'll take anything that keeps a fussy baby ready to nap!

Final verdict

Overall, the Joie Sprint and i-Base Encore bundle was really useful for our parents, especially due to the versatility and longevity of the base and the easy-to-use Isofix attachment option. One tester told us, "The option of using it without an Isofix base means that you can easily swap it between cars if necessary and it only takes a matter of seconds," which is superb for busy mums on the go. It's a great investment for your baby, especially for those with other Joie products already.
