Testing the Joie i-Irvana

Like most Joie products, one of the highlights of the i-Irvana to our testers was the top quality comfort. "The materials used are of extremely high quality and look expensive. The car seat has excellent padding, meaning it is extremely comfortable for a child," said a pleased parent, with another mum telling us that it was "great being able to adjust the headrest positions to make it just right for my 3-year-old. She was very comfortable in the seat and even had a lengthy snooze!"

These high-quality materials are nice and easy to clean as well, with one mum telling us "the material for the seat can be easily wiped clean or the seat covers can be removed for a more thorough clean". Another tester praised the design here too, stating that "it's quite a light car seat, making it easy to carry. Seems easy to clean & wash with seat covers being easy to remove". This lightweight design also allows for easy lifting!

"It was easy to install and is not too heavy if you need to move it from car to car," revealed a satisfied tester, telling us the seat was "easy to use and was not hard at all to install - I could easily do it myself". This is thanks to the weight, but also due to the handy built-in isofix - another parent confirmed that "the installation of this car seat was straightforward and simple using the isofix adapters. The harness is easy to use and clips in place to secure."

Speaking of the harness, the safety features of the i-Irvana also impressed. "The car seat feels firm and sturdy when connected and the addition of the top tether adds further to this. Both the harness and seatbelt options feel just as secure, and it's simple to pass the seatbelt through the guides," reported a pleased mum. Another thrilled tester told us: "It is well designed so that you do not have to keep purchasing new car seats as your child grows as the headrest and harness systems can be changed into 15 different positions... It feels extremely sturdy and safe for a child."

Final verdict

Overall, this is a solid all-rounder car seat that will last for a long time, with plenty of comfortable materials and a secure fastening that provides excellent reassurance for parents. Our testers agreed - one summed it up well by saying: "Comfort and safety are the key features of this seat which I found reassuring. The harness has a five-point system which has padded covers to make sure the child is comfortable and secure". It's definitely a recommended product from our testers.
