Aldi’s Mamia Baby Shampoo received glowing feedback from testers for being a gentle, affordable, and effective product that’s kind to both babies’ hair and skin. Parents consistently noted how mild the formula was, with one saying, "This product was gentle and did not irritate their skin. It lathered up nicely," and another adding, "The shampoo doesn't have a strong chemical smell and is gentle on the hair and skin."
Ease of use was also a highlight, especially during slippery bath times. One tester appreciated that it was "easy to get out of the bottle even with wet hands," and said it "worked well at getting food etc out of babies' hair." Another parent shared, "It lathered really well and was very gentle on my baby’s head—I was worried about it making his skin dry but it didn’t at all, he was very happy being washed in it!"
In terms of results, the shampoo impressed across the board. One parent commented, "Their hair was left nice and soft, very easy to brush and no problems when we talk about detangle," while another said, "It has removed all the dirt from the hair and left it feeling soft and clean. It even has a great shine to it." The tear-free formula was especially appreciated, with one tester saying, "This worked fantastically—no tears and a lovely fresh smelling baby."

An added bonus? It’s gentle enough that one parent noted, "I’ve also noticed my hands feeling nourished after using it." Overall, Aldi Mamia Baby Shampoo proved to be a gentle, effective, and budget-friendly staple that parents are happy to recommend.

How did this product make your life easier?
Zoe: It's a great price, a large bottle so in terms of value for money - perfect for mums. It comes out of the bottle easy, its a clear bottle so you can see how much is left. I would also add that it has a lovely clean smell to it, and it makes my daughter's hair smell nice for ages.
Adele: I found this product to be of good quality and therefore cleaned my little one from head to toe well, I felt it was more than just a shampoo. It lathered well and only a small amount was required per wash. It has a subtle yet distinctive scent to it and really fills the bathroom with a lovely aroma, the scent also lasts on my little ones skin for hours after use. It is also suitable for use on sensitive skin and was really gentle and caring, leaving skin smooth.
Lucy: The product is very easy to use. The simple and easy to use pouring/squirting mechanism is great with a young baby as you can use it one handed while busy. Because of its colour it is easy to spot on the shelf. The packaging is also slimline and easy to stack with other bottles in the cupboard/on the shelf so this definitely makes life easier and neater as a mum.

Would you recommend this to other parents?
Amy: I would recommend this product for value for money. It is really reasonable for the amount that you get! The bottle was appealing to my baby, she loved holding it and pointed it out when we got in the bath due to the colour she was very excited. I would also recommend this product for ease of use the fact that it is 2 in 1.
Sarah: Yes, the value for money is fantastic for the amount you get and it doesnt irritate the eyes of my little one. it has a nice scent and is easy to use in terms of the bottle design and opening. It is available in store so when shopping is easy to pick up as part of the weekly shop and is very well priced.
Bryony: Unlike other brands they fill the bottle right up so you’re not paying for extra packaging. The smell is not like what I’ve smelt before it’s really unique. The simplicity of the bottle is great, the design is eye catching and not exactly the same as all the other supermarket own brands which makes it a bit unique.
Would you choose this product above all others on the market?
Zoe: I believe that this product should win simply down to the price. It does the job perfectly, its gentle on skin, smells very nice and from a first time mum budgeting, price is a really important factor when shopping for your family. So in my opinion, its priced well and does exactly the same as other products on the market for half the price.
Adele: I think the product should win, I feel it is a versatile shampoo, being able to use as a body wash also allowed me to not only cut back on products I purchase but I was able to use one single product per bath time. The scent is amazingly good, it has a lovely subtle and calming effect to it. The colour is also pretty, one that stands out.
Lucy: Yes I think I would out of other products similar that I have used. This is great value for money, as it lasts for a long time. I also like the fact that it is paediatrician approved - as this gives me confidence that it will be safe to use on newborn and young children’s skin without causing irritation or rashes.

What changes would you make to this product?
Amy: For me it would be the colour because even though my baby was excited to see the bottle I dont really like things that attract her too much. Especially when trying to get the bottle back off her. The smell for me personally as well was not as nice as other products I have used. It didn't feel as baby friendly for me.
Sarah: If I could change one thing about this product, it would be the scent and the amount you have to use to get a good lather up. It smells very pleasant but I prefer other more natural cotton smells. If there was one more thing, it would be for the packaging to include a pump so I could more easily use it one handed.
Bryony: It would be how quickly it comes out, because I feel like there is a lot of waste to this product. Although it does look fun, I’d like to change the bottle, maybe a different shape to make it fun for the children, like the purple one could be a star, and the yellow one could be a duck etc, I don’t know but make it so the children want it more than the parents but it’s affordable for the parents!
