LittleLife Freedom S4 Child Carrier

The Freedom S4 Child Carrier won Gold in the Mother&Baby awards 2024 for Best Baby Carrier/Sling or Back Carrier.

Testing the Freedom S4 Child Carrier

This LittleLife Freedom S4 Child Carrier key features child carrier has been the best piece of baby equipment we've used. My son enjoyed being higher up compared to our previous carrier where he was positioned much lower down my body. It is incredibly comfy for both parties and is breathable so it's been fantastic to use over the summer months.

The design is good and the place to put your foot whilst fitting the baby in provides an added safety element. I've tried one other similar backpack before and the LittleLife Freedom S4 is vastly more comfortable.

We live in the countryside and often visit family in Cornwall so it really has stood the test in terms of off-road use and durability. My child is 16 months old and loves being in it, sometimes he begs to get into it! It does take some trial and error to get the straps right for your build. But once you find the right settings it does fit really well. My husband is more broad than me and we both found the settings that work for our own body shapes. I love that you can also change the height and angle that our son is at to make it super comfortable for him. There is a lovely headrest and front padding in case he falls asleep!

Its ample storage means I've been able to pack drinks, snacks for the little one and nappies within the carrier and not have to take any extra bags. It's freestanding and the handy anchor point has been fantastic to avoid tipping whilst my tot climbs into the carrier on his own. The wipeable material has meant I've been able to thoroughly clean the carrier after putting it down on muddy ground (thanks to our beautiful British summer) to allow my son to climb in.

The Freedom S4 allows you to go to places that would normally be difficult with a pram or a toddler trying to walk. For example, a trip to a castle as a family became a much nicer experience as our toddler could relax when their legs got tired, whilst the number of bags we normally would carry didn't increase due to the helpful storage compartment.

Final thoughts

This LittleLife Freedom S4 child carrier overall is really good. It is fully adjustable which allows it to accommodate to most heights so that all parents can use it. Although adjusting it each time can become time-consuming at first, but it gets easier the more you use it.

It provides full comfort for your child, with the soft face pad, neck support and anatomically shaped seating area. Not only that but it provides comfort for yourself with a pivoting hip belt and air-flow back system.

It has multiple pockets allowing you to store the essentials for any occasion. It also includes accessories like the sun shade, viewing mirror and stirrups at no additional cost. With the carrier including all these features and accessories, it does mean it is quite big and unfortunately not as foldable as some would like.
