At a glance:

This regenerating cream reduces the appearance of stretch marks that occur during pregnancy or following a sudden weight change. The active ingredients provide deep hydration, rebuild collagen and elastin and smooth the skin while restoring skin elasticity and granting natural appearance.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Sophie: I'd recommend this product to family and friends. It is amazing and made me feel so much better about my stretch marks. It hasn't got rid of them but they've faded. They are not as in your face visible and I love that. I can't fault this product one little bit and I will definitely continue using it.

Natalie: The Reconstria cream packaging appeared “scientific”. It was in a number of other languages which was slightly off-putting and meant I had to look carefully for directions of use. The enclosed leaflet did not disclose cautionary/side effects/allergy information provided. The cream had a nice consistency, was very easy to rub into my skin and did not feel greasy or heavy. It also had a fairly pleasant smell. Unfortunately, I did not see any difference in my stretch marks, which the cream purports to improve.

Samantha: The Reconstria Cream that I received came with full instructions and in a handy little tube. A little goes a long way, the cream isn’t sticky and actually feels quite silky. The tube is quite discreet so if you have it out on the bathroom shelf it doesn't scream "she has stretch marks".

How did this product make your life easier?

Emma: As a mother of two small children, I like having a product I can quickly pick up and use without it leaving my hands covered in grease. I like the smell which makes me more inclined to use the cream multiple times a day. It appears to be making my stretch marks lighter in colour which is obviously the desired effect.

Esther: This product didn’t make my life as a mum any easier. I didn’t get the results such as fading. Needing to use the Reconstria Cream 2 - 3 times daily could be quite an ask for a mum who is struggling to keep up with the demands of a newborn.

Lucy: The idea of a cream to get rid of stretch marks is great, however, I’m not sure that such a thing exists! This cream did not seem to make any difference to the skin on my stomach. The cream is not too light or too heavy and was nice to apply. My skin didn’t feel sticky afterwards which was a bonus.

Would you choose this product to win?

Sophie: Yes, it should win. I didn't know there was cream out there for these sort of things. I would definitely continue to use this product. It has worked wonders for me. I love it and I'll make sure my family and friends buy it.

Natalie: Unfortunately I cannot recommend this stretch mark cream to win the product category as I did not feel it made any difference in improving the appearance of my stretch marks. However, I have very few stretch marks and it may be more effective on ladies with more. I did find some benefit in its moisturising properties, but its claim to reduce stretch marks was not the case for me.

Samantha: I have only seen mildly noticeable results from this cream. This is partly due to forgetting to use it as I struggle to find time to dedicate to myself. I don’t think this product should win as the price is not competitive. I liked the cream overall but the results don’t reflect the price.

What changes would you make to this product?

Emma: If I could change one thing about the product it would be the packaging. I think it looks quite medical. If was spending £20+ on a product then I would want it to look more luxurious. The product recommends 2-3 applications per day, I would prefer it to be once a day as it is difficult to fit in applications around a baby and a toddler.

Esther: One thing that I found quite confusing about FrezyDerm’s Reconstria Cream is that the instructions simply say to use the cream ‘for a long period of time’, with no indication as to what they mean by that. A long period could refer to weeks, months or even years. If a product like this needed years to work I doubt I’d have the patience to keep using it!

Lucy: I think the tube and packaging of the Reconstria cream could definitely be improved on. It is brown and grey and could be brighter. The tube I tried was obviously designed for another market and some of the wording on it could do with being improved and changed. The instructions are a bit vague. It just says to use it for ‘a long period of time' so I had no idea how long it would take for any improvement of my stretch marks to be seen.
