A fellow guest shares their annoyance about a couple’s baby keeping them awake at night – and the letter sparks a huge debate
Taking your baby on holiday makes for those all-important special family memories – but one US couple have been left with a pretty unpleasant one after a recent skiing break with their child.
The guest staying in a nearby hotel room posted a note under their door to complain about being kept awake by their baby’s cries.
‘Thank you for bringing a screaming baby to a ski resort and waking up everyone near your room, several times during the night,’ said the letter, which then goes on to reprimand the parents because ‘babies don’t ski, no reason to bring them to a ski resort, they should stay at home with family or nanny’.
This goes on for a whole page, including specifics about the nights in question and asks mum and dad to ‘think of others around [you] on your next trip’.
Surprisingly, the note wasn’t signed.
The brother of the mum has posted the note on his blog, Dad On The Run, with an open letter to ‘the miserable person who slipped this message under my sister's door’.
The comments on the post are pretty mixed, with some people agreeing that the author should’ve handled things differently. But others suggest the parents shouldn’t have taken their baby away with them where he would disturb other guests’ sleep.
So, what do you think? Have you experienced anything similar when on holiday with your baby? Let us know on the comments board below.
