Uh Oh Milo! donates £2 per book to help tackle holiday hunger with Cash for Kids

Children’s book series Uh Oh Milo! is once again stepping up to support Cash for Kids, this time preparing to raise funds for the charity’s important Cash for Kids Day campaign in May. The initiative will focus on combating holiday hunger, with £2 from every book sold across the Uh Oh Milo! range during April and May donated to the cause.

Uh Oh Milo! was created by children’s author and mum of two, Kate Wogan, who teamed up with illustrator Helen Faulkner to bring to life a charming collection of picture books. Designed to teach young children about manners in a light-hearted and engaging way, the books are inspired by Kate’s own childhood.

Kate said: "The inspiration for Uh Oh Milo! came from stories our grandmother used to tell me and my brothers. It wasn't until I had my own children that I realised how clever she was to use the Mischief Makers to point out when my brothers and I weren't behaving… which was quite often from memory!"

"We never felt that we were being told off or singled out but would immediately know what she was referring to when told an Impolite Imp or a Fabulous Fairy had "joined us". It’s also a clever way to distract a small child from certain behaviours that might not be ideal - looking for the Tantrum Trolls is a great example of that."

"Kids love to be able to recognise and interact with the behaviours and stories. There is always an Uh Oh! moment where our readers can tell what's going wrong and have fun learning how Granny fixes things."

With six books now in the series, Uh Oh Milo! has become a go-to for parents looking to nurture kindness and emotional understanding in little ones. The stories reflect Kate’s warm, relatable storytelling and are deeply rooted in her experiences as both a mother and a child.

This upcoming campaign follows the success of Uh Oh Milo!’s previous partnership with Cash for Kids during their Mission Christmas initiative. In December, all profits from their festive title The Excited Elf were donated to the campaign. Shoppers were also invited to donate a copy of the book as a Christmas gift for a child in need, resulting in an incredible 1,567 books donated - equating to a contribution of £3,134. The book became one of the top-performing items in the campaign.

Now, with May’s Cash for Kids Day on the horizon, Uh Oh Milo! is turning its focus to holiday hunger, ensuring that children don’t go without food during school holidays. Their commitment to donating £2 from each book sold offers a simple yet powerful way for readers to support families in need.
