When to announce your pregnancy

There is no right time to announce your pregnancy; waiting until you and your partner feel most comfortable sharing the news is best. For many couples, this is after the 12-week mark. This is because the most likely time for a miscarriage is between six and ten weeks (there’s a 30 per cent risk), which lessens considerably from the 12-week mark. Other couples, however, start sharing the news the moment they see a positive result on the pregnancy test.

However, we recommend sharing the news with your close family and friends before posting on social media. A new baby is exciting for the whole family, and finding out on social media may be upsetting.
