Mrs Hinch shared a precious moment with her eldest son Ronnie on social media. The pair were enjoying an afternoon of make-believe play, pretending that Ronnie had his very own restaurant. We know how important imaginative play is for development so we have compiled all the best sets you will need to set up your role-play with your child.

Why is imaginative play important?

Young children learn through play. Imaginative play is a fun and fantastic way to teach your little ones all of the life skills they will need when they are older. These skills include fine motor skills, number skills and vocabulary. It also helps children to understand things they have seen or experienced. Taking time to play with your child will help them develop creatively, emotionally and intellectually.

Our favourite imaginative role-play activities:

  • Restaurants

  • Shops

  • Garage

  • Police station

  • Hairdressers

  • Tea party
