Actor Nicholas Hoult has welcomed his first child with his girlfriend, model Bryana Holly according to PEOPLE. The X-Men: Apocalypse actor and model have apparently kept their relationship "under wraps", but according to a source speaking to PEOPLE magazine they are, "So happy and excited" at their new addition.

The model, who has 1.7 million followers on Instagram, first sparked pregnancy rumours when she appeared with the British actor and a big baby bump back in March, however neither Nicholas or Bryana confirmed they were expecting.

A source has now revealed to PEOPLE that the couple have welcomed a baby, however no further details have been released.

Nicholas, who started acting as a child, was known for his part in the 2002 film About A Boy, appearing alongside Hugh Grant, and the E4 series Skins. Since then has gone on to star in a number of feature films, including playing the role of Henry "Hank" McCoy / Beast in a number of X-Men films.

The 28-year-old actor is notoriously private about his relationships, although it is known that he previously dated actress Jennifer Lawrence for three years, before splitting in 2014.

Last year Nicholas did open up a little on his relationship to Porter magazine when he was asked about his girlfriend storing her stuff in his room, “I don’t feel as though I’m that possessive over things like that," he explained.

“She can put her stuff wherever she likes.

“My dad was an air pilot so he was flying a lot, and I grew up with my two sisters and my mum so I was used to ‘girl things’ being around and a ‘girl environment’ in the household.”

Bryana is an American lingerie model who has previously dated Aston Irwin from boyband Five Seconds of Summer and the step-brother of Kim Kardashian West, Brody Jenner.

Congratulations to Nicholas and Bryana!
