While there's already a lot of Lion King toys and merchandise out today, we can't wait to see all the new toys Disney will bring out, following the announcement of the new Disney movie, 'Mufasa: The Lion King'.

The brand-new trailer for the movie dropped recently, and the movie is set to be a prequel to the live-action remake of the original 'The Lion King', sharing the story of how Simba's father, Mufasa, became king.

Best Lion King toys and merchandise at a glance:

Best Lion King soft toys: Simba and Nala Small Soft Toy Set, Disney, £35
Best Lion King keepsake: Enesco The Lion King Pride Rock Figurine, Disney, £99.95

So whether you're looking to buy some cute Lion King toys for your little one to play with and snuggle, or even some Lion King memorabilia for yourself, Mother&Baby has found the best items for you.

Best Lion King soft toys

This Simba and Nala Small Soft Toy Set is really good value for money, as individual soft toy figures can cost a similar price to this pair.

The soft toys are inspired by the original Lion King characters, and have detailed features, including furry tufts and tail tips.

Both soft toys are only suitable for children over the age of two years. Some parents might find it inconvenient that they need to be hand-washed rather than machine-washed, but it helps keep the toys soft and cuddly.

Best Lion King toy for babies and toddlers

Suitable from birth, the Zazu Shoulder Soft Toy makes a lovely cuddly friend for your little one. It's a good size, and made with soft-feel fabric.

Again, it's hand-wash only which might not be ideal when handled by a toddler, but it's a small inconvenience which won't matter when they're toddling around with Zazu sitting on their shoulder.

It features a magnetic base that sits on your child's shoulder, to which the bird attaches, almost like they're walking around with a parrot on their shoulder like a pirate. Obviously the magnet needs to be kept out of reach of smaller children, until they're bigger.

Best Lion King keepsake

The Enesco The Lion King Pride Rock Figurine is a beautiful celebration of the 30th anniversary of the 1994 film. It'll make a lovely keepsake or accessory to a nursery.

The figurine features a patchwork pattern, with Rafiki's drawings, and the main characters on Pride Rock. The figurine is handcrafted, so you should expect slight variations in the product you receive, but we think it's a great way of owning Lion King memorabilia that's completely unique.

Best Lion King tonies figure

Tonies the Lion King Audio CharacterAmazon/Tonie

Featuring four iconic songs from the Lion King movie, the Tonies Lion King Audio Character is a great screen-free alternative.

With a run time of 30 minutes, your little one can enjoy the iconic moments and songs from the Lion King movie without screen time watching the film; they can even enjoy it as a bedtime story and song.

Best Lion King bag

The Lion King Tote Bag features embossed wording and silhouette-style artwork feature of the three main characters from the 1994 film.

While the bag is spacious, with a zip-up pouch attached outside, the bag is wipe clean only and cannot be hand-washed.

Best Lion King music box

Handmade and featuring the tune of 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight', this vintage-style Lion King Music Box is a unique item.

Some customers said it was smaller than expected, but very well-made and makes a wonderful gift. You can have a custom engraving on the box to make it truly unique.

Best Lion King clothing

Personalised Disney The Lion King Fleece Dressing GownMy 1st Years

A cosy dressing gown for little ones, the Personalised Disney The Lion King Fleece Dressing Gown is super soft.

It'll help to keep your child warm after bath time or in the morning, and can even be personalised with their name. Although, it is worth noting that the more letters you choose, the smaller they will appear.

It's machine washable, so you don't have to worry about spillages your little one might have.

Best Lion King throw merchandise

While not suitable to be used as a baby blanket, the Simba Woven Throw will look lovely hung up on a wall or even to be used for yourself. It features silhouette-style artwork and a fringe trim along the edges.

It's made from soft-feel fabric, meaning it's incredibly cosy, and it's a part of the Lion King 30th Anniversary Collection.

Best Lion King puzzle toy

One you can get the whole family involved in making, The Lion King 30th Anniversary 500-piece Wooden Puzzle is ideal for children over 36 months, and it celebrates the original Lion King film.

The puzzle also comes in a commemorative canvas bag, so it's incredibly good value for money.

Best Lion King LEGO merchandise
