Ingrid Perry MBE
Awarded the title of MBE in June 2018 for ‘service to education and the improvement of the oral health of young people,’ preventative oral health care is of great importance to Ingrid, who experienced poor oral health as a child, which led to her having to have six general anaesthetics throughout her childhood to remove decayed teeth. This resulted in Ingrid becoming a target for bullies due to her speech being affected and a difference in appearance due to her missing teeth, which had a profound impact on her self-esteem.

Her many years of experience in oral health promotion and education have enabled her to deliver high-quality training to health professionals, provide advice and information to the general population, and coordinate initiatives and events.
