Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment is thought by many to be the best nappy rash cream on the market. Requiring only a small amount, thinly spread, the cream acts as a barrier between baby’s excretions and sensitive skin, offering maximum protection. It also works as an effective healing cream on other areas of the skin.

The cream is without scent (which is great) but it is quite sticky and the toothpaste-like tube is not easy to open and close during a nappy change. It also could be a bit cheaper but a fabulous product regardless.

Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment is brilliant at preventing nappy rash and in some instances might even heal it. It doesn't stain skin or clothes and although the cream does tend to be quite thick and sticky, it apples easily and creates an effective barrier between baby’s bottom and its excretions.

It comes in a nifty tube that fits easily into travel bags for days out. The only downer is that the cream is not suitable for those using cloth nappies as it reduces their absorbency. Otherwise, an essential product that offers both comfort and good value!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment is a fab cream that I would highly recommend; it worked really well on my little boy. I love that it comes in a tube rather than a tub, as I found this a lot easier to use one-handed, especially when changing my son. It didn't smell terrible and was very easy to rub in compared to other creams I've had.

How did this product make your life easier?

The cream is really creamy and glides on really well, which is a huge help when baby is wriggling and trying to crawl away! Not only that but it works really well in clearing up any nappy rash. My son had a red sore and I used this just for a couple of days and it went!

Would you choose this product to win?

I love how easy it is to rub in, leaving a protective barrier but not one that stains. Products I've used in the past I've put on but then if my son rolls over suddenly the cream would get everywhere. This cream is fab for that as if my son did roll over it doesn't leave a mark on the floor or any of his clothes! I was also very impressed with how quick it worked on my son’s nappy rash.

What changes would you make to this product?

To be honest I'm not sure there is anything I would change.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment to other mums. The tube design is ideal to open and use with one hand when changing a wiggly baby. The 30g tube size is perfect for keeping in the changing bag. The cream doesn't have a strong smell like some creams and does not leave a sticky or chalky residue like other well-known creams.

How did this product make your life easier?

I found the cream spread a lot easier than other well known creams and the design of the tube means I can open and apply the cream using one hand which is very useful when changing a wiggly baby. I never used nappy creams as barrier creams only when a rash / redness appears and I found the cream very effective at clearing any redness.

Would you choose this product to win?

I wish I had discovered this sooner as I found it to be the perfect barrier cream. There is no strong smell like with sudocrem and unlike metanium it doesn't leave a chalky residue.

What changes would you make to this product?

In all honesty I don't think there is anything I would change about Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment. I only wish I had discovered this cream sooner.

Tested by mum Emily Oliver for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointmentis a great product, especially in the newly designed tube. The tube seals tightly which is useful when popping in your changing bag, but as it has a flip top lid can be opened early with one hand, which is really useful when you have your hands full nappy changing! It spreads easily on to baby's skin whilst giving reassurance that their delicate skin is being given more protection against the contents of the nappy.

How did this product make your life easier?

Bepanthen makes my life easier as a mum because it is easy and fuss-free to use, easy to pop in the changing bag without the worry of it leaking and provides good protection and healing for baby's skin whilst wearing nappies. The flip top lid is particularly good for one handed changing but also takes away the worry of a screw-top lid being a choking hazard.

Would you choose this product to win?

Bepanthen particularly stood out for me because it was so easy to use one handed, with its flip lid. I trust the product because I have seen it work effectively against my son’s nappy rash, and it doesn't stain clothing in the way that some other nappy care products do. It was easy to use and great for taking with me in the changing bag for frequent use.

What changes would you make to this product?

I really thought that Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment was a good product with little need for improvement. Maybe it could also be available as a larger pump size bottle for home use and additionally as a tiny tube of cream with a flip top lid for popping in the changing bag for taking out with you for nappy changes on the go.
